It's because of leaning over the center of my hood with the porter cable and using only my mid back muscles to hold me up and to move about the hood. Try it, position your feet together and dont let any part of your body touch the fenders or anything, then lean directly over the very center of your hood and dont use your arms for support, just lean over it . . . . you'll quickly feel the muscles I'm talking about, and probably see why doing that over a period of 30+ minutes would mess something up hah

i dunno why the hell it happened though, neither did the doctor, I mean I'm a 20 year old guy. . . not 60. So he was saying maybe I havent used that muscle in a while and then to put that sorta stress on it is why it might have strained like that

i got one REALLY bad back pain while i was washing my car
it happened last week
and i can still feel it a bit
i just kept stretching it out

Then you will do a section in 2-3 minutes. Using your back is how you are supposed to do it since you are limiting your movement that way.

30 minutes a section is just nuts imo.

rotory is dangerous for the paint man. . . too risky imo. I've seen way too many cars with rotory swirls all over them. IMO, rotory is only good for serious polishing jobs. Whats your take on this johnson?

that too, but I just dont think they're necessary unless your trying to tackle some serious serious paint issues. I feel safer knowing that I cant fuck up my paint with the PC, and as long as it gets the job done, then Im ok with that. So the benefit of a rotary is the speed at which it works? So it just saves you more time and works more intensely?

hmm, well. . . . like I said, I've taken meticulous care of my car for over a year now and my swirls are to an absolute minimum. For those of us who take great daily/weekly/monthly care of our cars, IMO we dont need much else then a PC and some medium/light cutting polishes, plus some great waxes and sealants. And to top it off, mcluvan , your car is white haha
