matt...
honestly it's hard to say...i'd be afraid of what you're suspecting...as i'm sure they're gonna try an snoop for any evidence of piggyback/ecu mods.

special tech, field tech, etc. has not boded well for some other members on the board

vegas was awesome, They said the have to have a "special tech" look at my car, does this mean they are just trying to find a reason why not to warranty the HPFP. because its the 3rd time

I still had my DP's on But my SA said that there is no way that DP's could effect the HPFP

since the recall is now officially issued, i dont see how they can get away with it unless they blame on mods

Sorry to say but generally when special techs or field techs come out it is not a good sign. These are highly trained people sent by BMW to go around dealerships and inspect cars being worked on. That means they WILL snoop around and find any reason to deny warranty.

Remember the guy with the sn M3KillR (Spelling?) that had his warranty voided because they found his procede. All he did was take his car in for a simple service. He just happened to have HORRIBLE luck and a field technician was at the dealership and decide snoop around and boom found the solenoid bypass and now his engine warranty is completely gone.

Hopefully they will not say anything about the downpipes. I forgot what thread it was in but some guy was denied a wastegate replacement (which is becoming a common problem even on stock cars) because they said he had an aftermarket exhaust which creates less backpressure which caused the wastegate to fail. Not to mention that he only has a CATBACK exhaust which means just mufflers basically. Its not like he had a full straightpipes with no cats or resonators all the way back.

his SA bs him that removing the secondary cats causes the turbo to shrunk if we are talking about the same person

Yeah I can see if it was a turbo or wastegate issue. But how would that have anything to do with the HPFP
