honestly, this whole thing stinks....
i mean the burden of proof should be on the dealers to prove that a mod was the reason for the failure, but all too many times, it seems its the other way around, with the consumer having to prove it.
they just deny coverage, and most people will just walk away and say oh well

mo and i was actually just talking about this today

mo said they will void your warranty for any silly reason possible

for example: using aftermarket springs causes more vibration while driving therefore, engine fails

so, my conclusion is, they can void your warranty on anything based on anything they want

if you tell them you had sex in your car and shake things up, they will void your watever warranty due to the alteration you've done to the original set up

Since you said you aren't planning on lemoning the car anyways, maybe just let them know that.

Just tell them you like your car and you are not planning on lemoning the car. All you want is to get it back in working order.

Someone should really open up a dealership that caters to the "modified bmw" crowd just like how all the modified subys go to Renick Subaru because of their known reputation for NO BS with cars that have mods. I mean the market for modified BMWs in southern california alone is soo huge, someone should really jump on it.
