Right, thanks. Could be that due to the newly introduced PHEV subsidies (at least in Germany), they consider the 330e to be selling well enough and decided to axe it.

I think we will see the 320e spec with the model updates for spring 2021, which sould be published by mid of january. Maybe they postponed it because of the battery recall.

G20 3er started production mid-October 2018. So no surprise that the 7th generation 3er gets an update (Life Cycle Impulse) mid 2022. G80 M3: production started in November 2020 and first deliveries are scheduled to start in March 2021. So it seems that the launch version will already be replaced by an update mid 2022 (LCI start of production in July 2022). But then again, the same happened with the F87 M2: deliveries started from April 16, 2016 onwards, LCI happened in 2017 (because of the F22 2er LCI) and production ended at the start of Summer 2018 (replaced by the M2 Competition from September 2018 onwards - moving from N55 engine to S55 engine because of tightened EU emissions regulations). G82 M4: the launch version is expected to stay around longer, with an update early 2024 (LCI start of production in March 2024).

Yep. It happened with the G80 M3 and E90 M3 also.
This is a direct consequence of the delay between the debut of a new generation product and the arrival of its M transformation. BMW has tightened up that timeline with many M vehicles, but the M2 and M3 still lag. Quote:
If there were a G40 2 Series sedan, its quite likely that it’s M counterpart and the G87 M2 would arrive just after the release of the G42. |

Anyways, often, most LCI changes are retrofittable.

Still curious about this. G07 LCI staying MY2023, or getting moved up to MY2022?

Strictly speaking we may not know for certain, but practically speaking, if BMW intended to continue with the B58 / MT combo then they’d not have limited it only to one vehicle. It’s almost surely an S58-only affair now, and at the end of the decade, it’ll be gone for good.

when the G20 LCI test mule are expected to hit the road? In order to make us see if the taillights will change?
I'm to order the M3...but if the LCI is arriving within a year...it's better to wait another year instead of buying it this spring....

Saw the next gen iDrive to debut in the iX from CES. Seems like the iX will have it.
Any perspective on when the next gen of iDrive will get launched. Check out the i4 dual screen set up for the next gen iDrive. Wondering if the G26 and MY 22 G20 will feature these updates? M |

https://www.bmwblog.com/2020/04/01/s...ies-x3-and-x4/ I was curious if the next gen I-Drive for CES would hit the G01 LCI, but I'm guessing no since it just moved to I-Drive 7 |

I would be willing to bet that LCI will upgrade the X3 from iDrive 7 "lite" to the full version which will enable driver assist pro, remote start, and digital key (amongst other things). I can't imagine BMW leaving those options off their highest volume model for much longer.

48V will be paired with the same engines it's used today on G2x, so no news there either.

Those had been reported on in the past but their original release dates came and went. Since they are not being sold in the US, they don't tend to stay on the radar. It's possible the pandemic contributed to their delay. Either way, it's good to know they are finally set to hit the market. |
