Here is a really dumb question... I have an I8A0S ECU and had an AP a while ago. I'll be moving back to Cobb on Friday but a couple weeks ago, the dealer flashed my ECU/TCU. That flash won't change the ECU Code will it? I'm still I8A0S correct? Thanks!

Did you have the COBB uninstalled? And yes you can get a different ECU from dealer, not sure they'll change it unless its fried, may have been just an update.

A dealer ECU flash definitely can change your ROM. However, I8AOS is the latest ROM version available to the MSD80 DME as far as I know. You should still be I8AOS unless you had your physical DME replaced by an MSD81(in which case you'll probably be IJEOS.)

I saw that post which is what made me think about it. It looks like he had a tune installed already which I do not. My car is back to 100% stock now (minus the alpina tcu flash I did last night).

My Cobb tune has been uninstalled for a few months, I unmarried it and sold my orig AP, just picked up another I'm pretty sure they didn't change the ECU itself, just did some sort of update. A lot of my settings were reset. As a side note, I also think they flashed my TCU as it was actually shifting much faster.

Ahh ^^ That's what I was wondering, guess I just wasn't sure hot to put it. I keep calling it ECU as opposed to DME. I guess I'll know when I plug it in. I just downloaded the I8AOS maps assuming it stayed the same after their flash/update.

If you're asking which map you should use:
stock car stage 1
upgraded FMIC stage 1+
high flow dps stage 2
high flow dps, upgraded FMIC and intake(recommended) stage 2+

then your octane:
aggressive 93
sport 91
drive 91 ACN

Ty for the comprehensive response. I was actually wondering how I would know which software version it's running? 4.x or something? Should I update it first on my laptop before installing? I haven't even opened the box yet. So busy working. Perhaps I should start there-opening the package

It should already have the latest maps installed already(4.02 IIRC.) You should hook it up to your computer and download the AP manager and download the latest AP firmware and that should be all you need to do.

Did couple of more pulls, read a lot, and I'm kind of confused, is it normal to have some timing pulls on couple cylinders or not? Some say its normal some say tune down, some say use e85. Running agressive 2+ FMIC top end map. I see timing pulls but not all the time. Bad fuel? i use e93 from Shell??? Not an expert but looks like everything else is normal.

Can some one please take a peak and advise if i need to drop to Stage 2+ Sport FMIC or do you think i got some other issues. Spark Plugs ? E85? Tune Down to Sport? All of the above ? Get a pro dyno tune that costs arm and a leg even with COBB?

its fine to have some cylinders backing as shown in your logs. looks fine to me. try the aggressive one.

Hey thanks for quick reply, those logs are from agressive map.

To be precise this is the map I'm running:

Stg2+FMIC ST Aggrssv IJE0S v402
Stock Throttle

Now the only thing i have not mentioned is the drop in air filter. All i have is K&N but thinking of upgrading to something better however don't want to suck in hot air from the engine bay.

One more question i have access to e85 but skeptical on using it i heard it could damage the fuel pump, like the seals or something, is that true?

To confirm my question, the dealer flash didn't change it from I8A0S... it installed just fine as if nothing were different. I just made sure I was on the latest AP firmware first.

Drop in filter is fine.

E85 mixes and corresponding ethanol mappings will tax your LPFP more than pump gas. I personally don't use it and never will.

As long as you dont go above e35 you are fine. Thats why cobb only has e30 maps. I have been running e50'e70 for about 1 year and no issues fueling wise if the lpfp is upgraded and installed correctly.

I've been running E50 since March no issues. From August 2012 to November 2012 no issues. Sure my LPFP is working harder, but confirmed by Dzenno it's fine. Sure booster pump is next mod, but so far so good.

Just got my ETS IC in... jumped onto the IC ST S1 402 maps.. liking it alot... my car had issues with 401 ST s1 maps. very smooth now gear changes feel better as well... good stuff COBB IC maps are tip top.

What you mean tax? Will cause damage to LPFP or what? I mixed the fuel today just to check if it fixes the small timing pulls and fixed all of them.

I put 4 gal of e85 and the rest 93 pump gas. I did 3 pulls 2-3 and only 3rd and no timing pull at all.

But damn, i just read up on it some more, shit i think i put too much of E85, lol, oh well time to burn it.....

So i guess i have to run sport map not to pull timing or get a pro tune?

just log lpfp pressure, afr and stft. if pressure drops below 50-40 and you lean out than your lpfp cannot push enough fuel to the hpfp . All this things should be known BEFORE starting to experiment...
