SO I am kinda flipping back and forth between getting a JB3 or a Procede Rev 1 V3, anyone have any thoughts (without starting a tune war). The Procede can be had for about $400, the JB3 is around $500.

i have no experience with any of them at all. i did a ton of research and it seemed that the jb had the most user friendly interface and the best power which is why i went with it. The only reason i don't want it is i'm taking a different route with my car

Price point. I can get it for $287 right now from the N54Tuning website. Gives me a little boost (purely stock right now) and I will move on to bigger and better things later.

yeah that makes sense. I guess my opinion has always been that if you plan on getting something better later why not just get it now? why spend 287 when you'll spend 500 in a couple of months. Of course thats what i do and its just too damn expensive. Even if you can sell your jb+ for 200 you're still spending 587 for something you could have gotten for 500

Well if I had all the money in the world, I would go Dinan, but we know that isnt going to happen right now. I am about the worst person in the world to save money as well. The Bimmer was a bit of an impulse buy even. Got my Christmas bonus, was tired of driving the Ford Focus so I tooled around on AutoTrader all night and then went the next morning to test drive the BMW 335i with 16,000 (have always wanted a BMW) and then planned on going to another dealer to test drive a 2008 Sub WRX STI with 8,000 miles. Once I drove the BMW I fell in love, and haven't thought twice about the decision since.

This is one major flaw I have, if I have money, it has to be spent.

My biggest concern with the tunes are the codes they may throw, hence the BT tool. I have two years left on my warranty and am very nervous about voiding it so I would like the extra comfort of knowing there is no codes visible. If I didn't give a shit, I would go with the JB3.

I am horrible at making decisions too, hence why I have to impulse buy, otherwise I would never spend any money.

ditto, but impulse buys are good, they always seem to be the right ones too.

Paul, you have to ask yourself what you really want your car to do. I don't know much about the tunes either. If you are looking for "a little extra" then go with the SSTT or JB+. Very easy install, no codes, and a decent amount of boost. If you are looking to dyno and get into the whole thing, then hold off on those other PNP's and get the real deal. If you are that worried about the warranty issues, stick with SSTT or JB+. I think you will be happy with either one. I have a SSTT, picked it up cheap, and like it so far. Would it be nice to have all the increase in power? Hell yeah. But why. I think you also have to ask yourself where you drive everyday. I never get the chance to open it up so all the extra power is a waste for me. I guess it is nice to "race" up to 45 mph

This is pretty much the same thought process I went through. I may make some 1/4 mile pulls with a buddy of mine who has a MazdaSpeed6 and an old Corvette, but that will likely be it.

On a side note, In one of the BT threads, Shiv hinted that the enthusiast BT Tool should be able to re-flash once they get the maps worked out. Yet another reason I am very interested in the BT Tool.

I think we all have that problem! If i could do it all over again, i would not have gotten every option you can get on my car and spent the extra money on mods. Fun to do!

How much is the BT tool? I am by no means trying to start a tuner war because I don't know much about them. My buddy, on the other hand, has had them all. He is a big fan of Terry and loves the JB3. All that map stuff seems like to much work for me. I like the ease of the SSTT. Now, for the record, I have never been in any other car with a tune. After the April meet, I may change my mind
