Shiv,
weren't the last dynos about 330rwhp? Judging by the videos you have to be sand bagging or the dynos are really conservative. The car pulls so strongly from 60-100. As it is now the acceleration is very similar to a C6 which several hundred pounds lighter and consistantly dynos higher. Can't wait to see your future stages. |

I don't think the DOT can regulate how manufacturers market their cars either. Vishnu, you're my hero. Now get working on a kit that replaces the stock turbos and possibly a fully built engine |

Please post more videos WITH SOUND! Watching the needle freak out is fun, but I'd (we'd, right guys?) like to hear the car. What does your prototype exhaust sound like? Please post more videos!!!!!!!

I don't disagree at all that 0-60 is poor. I was simply indicating why it's still the standard. |

yeah i thought it was 2.5" also, but not sure if doing downpipes and high flow cats will mean that Xede needs to be tuned slighly differently then a car w stock or just cat back exhaust???? Shiv? anyone?

Noob question: what exactly do you gain with custom tuning one of these things? Or, in other words, what differences are there when installing as is versus tuning it... what's getting tuned?
I understand what tuning is in general, just not how it applies here.

Non-custom tuning is when the user relies on a pre-set baseline map. On that has been shown to work well on a wide range of similarly modified cars. By nature, the maps are on the conservative side to account for the least common denonimator. So instead of offering 100% of the best possible output, it may only offer 90%. Still darn good if calibrated and tested properly. And certainly good enough to keep even the most power-hungry people happy until a custom tune is feasible. Hope that explains things. Cheers shiv |

I come down to LA all the time. But not to do customer tunes. For tuning, several cars would have to be lined up and ready to all be tuned in one day. And frankly, more LA folks come up to our shop in northern california and wait for me to come down there. It works out a bit cheaper and I always prefer to tune on a dyno I'm familiar with.
-shiv ps.. and yep, just plug up that vacuum line. I used a screw. But a golf tee will work just fine. |
