lol my digi cam is actually really old and i cannot change the frame rate so everything looks super slow. we did a test on the freeway with 2 different cameras and mine is indeed off.

Hopefully i can find a camera to borrow for the track or it will look like im doing 50mph on the straights haha.

I was actually very paranoid before i got onto my first track day because i thought my hand placement is off. I like to shuffle my hand for those tight turns while some do like you said and keep atleast one had at 12 or 6.

i talked to my instructor and another guy about it and they both told me its all about what you are comfortable with. Just as long as you dont let go off the wheel when you are making a transition for turns then you are fine. Although they did say my method of shuffling actually slows me down.

You're at an advantage with the step as you can use both your hands on the wheel. I was able to control my steering much better. Also, because you have the step, you won't need to use any effort shifting.

By the end of the day, you will not be tired or aching...
