Not working for me!!!

Not sure why but for some reason I cannot pull out the 1b.hex from the car.
I follow the procedure perfectly. I even try with 5 different USB. ALL OF THEM FAT32 formated. i copy that copie_scr.sh file in the root of the all USB but i cannot get it to work.
i even try with some older 4 GB USB sticks but no luck.
Also i just checked that for some reason when i go to check the version of the navigation that i have... it doesn't show me anything.
Its just BLANK

Mine is 523i 2010 F10
Bunch of issues...

How can I even check if it reads my USB after all...

You may not have a compatible CIC installed or another model, e.g. business instead.
Ok, I tried as well with some sticks, but do you mean it doesn't work for a Business nav?

I have an 2011 E87 business navi, with Motion maps, last time updated by dealer to 2018 map.
There is a USB port in the glovebox, trief to get the 1b file with smaller USB stick, no result. Checked if it sees the map update on a sandisk 32GB but this one doesn't start the update screen eather.
I downloaded: Road Map Europe WEST MOTION 2021

Script works only for CIC Head Unit, so Business Nav not possible.

Ok clear, that saves some trying and failure.

How would we be able to do this for a Business "MOTION" system then?
I tried with SW ID reader as well but that failed as well, probably also looking for the CIC Prof head unit then.

No, SWID Reader should work. What Head Unit do you have?

You have CIC-MID Head Unit (MOTION Map), not CIC (PREMIUM Map). USB 1B File Script File will not work on CIC-MID.

Pulling 1B file isn't the only option. You can always buy Map Update cheap.

Hello, I have a problem with Navi in my father's E84. I plugged the USB drive to get 1b.hex and CIC shutted down. Afterwards I was unable to enter NAVI. I plugged other USB drive to get 1B.hex and it was successfully created. I used it with Jaeger's FSC generator or BMWaicoder 4.6 and Euro East Premium 2021-2 USB. Both programs generated the same code. I printed specific and liftetime code, copied the map files to usb drive and inserted in car. Update started and asked for code. Unfortunately both codes give me faulty code message. What can be wrong?

CIC won't recognize USB

I feel like I've exhausted this thread and still cannot get system to start update, I had zero issues pulling 1b.hex. See images for details but I believe I have CIC Navi Pro based on my VIN lookup, I have checkmark with i in bottom left corner of Nav screen, I believe I downloaded the correct map type "Road Map NA Premium 2021-1", USB properties state its "File System: FAT32", files are in the root. I plug into my glove box, turn on car and nothing, can someone please help the only other thing I can think of is to get a 32gb usb to have Windows format as FAT32 instead of third party software (I used a 4GB usb formatted to FAT32 by Windows to pull 1b.hex but after downloading maps realized that was to small)

I hope all of that is not on USB Drive. Only the Config.nfm file and pkgdb folder should be on USB Drive, and both located in USB root folder.

Don't use the same USB drive without erasing the original 1b files and scripts from it!!

That will cause the unit to try to execute the script each time the USB is found and never get to the updates!

For best results reformat the drive as Fat32, load the update files to it again then insert.

Also isn't your 1b file too large???

I tried previously without the 1b and scripts files to no avail but I thought I saw in Chesters Youtube video above that he still had them in there so thats why I tried, I'll try reformatting and uploading again and let you know

My 1b file is 319bytes I think my Windows 11 just defaults to showing 1kb if the file is smaller
