Well, from the evo days, it was to hear it, and look for black shit all over the clamps. If theres shit there, it's probably leaking. I know why eisenmann would recommend you welding it because of how its hard to cut and make everything perfect to line up. This is also why I'm telling you to do a slip on design. It's basically tapering one to make it smaller and then sliding into the other pipe (kinda like piitb) and this reduces leakage.

It's cool nico, thats why we're here. Trust me, slip on is an easier design. However, welding isn't bad either. It's really up to you.
