This might seem stupid but how do you work a generator? Does it plug into your house or just power a few things off of a socket?

its a motor, so you put gas in it and it has a few outlets for you to power stuff up..

Yea just put gas or diesel in it and plug some extensions into it

Most generators you can plug into your socket(s) and turn it on. Parents have one run on natural gas and turns on when it detects no power.
