What I have found in the past is that anything more than 9lb of road force will cause a hop/shimmy/bounce/vibration/etc. which is why I asked for your *specific* results for each wheel/tire to begin with. |

I think the reason why only half the vibrations disappeared was because he left it in the low to high teens range for lb Any clue what could have caused 46 lb?? Even they were surprised.. |

Also "getting it down into the single digit range" doesn't just happen with continued iterations of Force Matching. Sometimes the hardware (wheel and/or tire) won't allow that. Wheels are either bent or they aren't; their runout value will (more or less) always remain static...the biggest variable, therefore, is the tire itself; understandably so given the nature of it's construction. |

Guys... I got on the highway today back from work and the vibrations are back at full force... This time 100x worse and the steering physically shakes too. The entire car shakes. Everything even the windows.. vibrations are prominently in the front but are so bad that theyre shaking the entire car... The steering has little to no feel at all at high speeds and there's excessive play when going around bends, it's very dangerous and the car shimmys and moves directions on its own at high way speeds too.
As soon as I get off the freeway however .. it all disappears and the steering feel is restored as it was before. What I found is when I come to a full stop when braking you can hear a creeking sound. I'm guessing this is struts? I'll add a video with the exact sound of this. So lost as to what it is.. |

Well, you got tires balanced. Suddenly it’s way worse. Sounds like it’s a wheel or tire... probably a tire and they did a shot balance job (something about an absolute shitton of road force up above? Lol)

Have you worked on your drive shaft by any chance? Like removing it to change the guibo or something because if you did and didn't replace it back to the exact same spot that will cause that issue Last edited by Bmw_Crazy; 02-07-2018 at 09:59 PM.. |

OP you changed one variable in the equation (wheel/tire balance) and conditions worsened...not hard to see where a major portion of the problem lies. |

Miraculously.... When I hit the highway this morning the vibrations decreased and were back to the way they were a few days ago.. (not as crazy as yesterday).. it's very temperamental..
Here's a video I took of the sound from yesterday I get when braking. You can hear it 10 seconds into the video if you listen closely with volume up. I'll be paying a visit to the wheel balancing place again today if I get time. |

You're still running those cheap Chinese tires right? Reputable and/or good reviews elsewhere or not, didn't you say earlier they were new, yet one already had bubbling and had to be replaced? Temp differences throughout the day can also affect a crappy tire...
You keep complaining about odd noises and stating your struts/shocks are done. Change them out then. Giubo? What say you actually diagnose everything that's wrong with the vehicle at one time and get it all done instead of piecemealing it, then coming back here to report that nothing has changed?

I've called the balancing place back. They offered me to come in and redo the road force balance as well as troubleshoot further.. (possibly even putting on a different set of rims and tires to see if it makes a difference..).. I'll make sure I come back with numbers this time. |

I changed my guibo along with my CSB and I suspect even tho I marked both sides of the driveshaft they are now out of balance. Need to find a place to get it reblanced.

Okay guys. Went back today.
The owner of the shop whose more competent in diagnosing inspected my situation and the balance today. I think we've finally diagnosed the issue. It's a combination of Very very shitty tires, Minor slight bends in most of my rims, and possibly struts, and bad allignment. It's mainly the crappy tires. The problem is when the tires get balanced.. vibration goes away slightly.. but then after a week of commuting they wear so much that they go out of balance. In addition to that these tires developed bald spots and bubbles very easily after a few months. Uneven wear and bald spots could be the allignment and struts however, but we're pretty certain it's these crappy tires. I smell burning rubber everyday. I don't even drive hard. Here's my solution: ride out the winter with this terrible setup. And wait until spring to get Michelin PSS or continental dws on Apex rims, Along with performance struts and better springs (maybe I'll go lower ![]() Moral of the story; STAY away from Sailun, or any other shit china brand. Lesson learned here!! |

There's been mis information given about alignments and what specs are suppose to be. If your alignment was off, your steering angle sensor would kick in. Most of the time , a good shop will check your suspension for wear prior to alignment, as it won't compensate for worn components, as I've said, there are many variables when doin one, and there's more than hand just putting it up on a rack. Always have a shop who's knows the vehicle, and procedures. Anytime you have one done, try to include the weight that's carried 80% of the time. Tires do have a major role in the way the car rides, and all are not created equal. Winter tires, summer, and all season all have different rubber compounds and require different psi that also plays a roll in how the car drives.
