If BlakeB backs out, does anyone want to split the cost of the 5th boot with me? We can then sell it.

Guys,
I was interested in this for my terra interior until I found a vendor that can do the same and even throw in different stiching not to mention the various choices (Alcantara, M style, etc) for $80!!! Let me know if you're interested.

Yes there are different vendors, but the people here interested want "saddle brown" specifically. I have sent a swatch to another vendor but they are unable to color match saddle brown exactly. LeatherZ is a reputable company that is well known in the BMW Z community. They will buy a new roll of saddle brown leather for this group, and will not use existing stocks which are different shades tan leather. I would rather pay $225 for a high quality boot set and get it done right the first time, than 80$ and chance it.

Looks like all the people are finally in. My local dealer does not have a saddle brown car so I will need to mail the samples to someone to approve the leather. Let me know who would be up for that (I will be out of town all next week).

Hi Guys. Sorry for the delay as I was out of the office for a few days. I just got the samples from Andy today. I will take pics of the leather on top of the seats and share with everyone tomorrow.
Thanks, -alan |

There is not an exact match for Saddle Brown. I chose what I thought was the 3 closest. Depending on the lighting all 3 will be similar to Saddle Brown. But keep in mind there is clearly a difference in the color of leather.

I was matching off the brochure. If you don’t like any of the leathers, you can try to find a better match. You can request samples (for free) online at:

Thanks Andy for the link. It's difficult to determine the right shade on a computer monitor. That being said, I noticed Spinneybeck has a sales office right in my building where I work on 9th Ave in NYC. I will try and see if they can match the leather in my car. If any of you guys live near the headquarters in upstate NY, maybe you can stop by.

Hey Guys,
I also got the leather samples from Andy, and out of the 10, I personally wouldnt choose any of them. There are a couple that are close, but different for sure. The grains are very different as well, but that may be me being overly picky. Kwakr738, keep us posted as you check with Spinneybeck, as Andy suggested. Looks like something from the Caramel or Light Copper colors may work .... try to find something as "grainy" as well Thanks, K |

Yeh I totally agree that the grain plays an important part. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to stop by today. I am going out of town on business tomorrow for 8 days. If anyone is by a local distributor maybe you can check it out:

There is no way to get the leather directly from BMW?

In the link I posted, click the plus symbol to add a sample to your cart. Add as many as you want then follow the checkout. Spinneybeck does not charge for samples. You will get the samples in a few days.

I requested some samples for those of us looking for Terra Dakota instead of Saddle Brown.
