Glad you like it! All the props go to Shiv for designing the new firmware. All I did was tell him what would be nice on an AT....

Shiv, let me see if I got this straight:
With the Beta v3 maps released 7-11 if you load up Stage 0 map and have NOT hooked up the map switcher you are driving around with the Doomsday map and can not switch to the non-doomsday map? Is that correct? Now, once these maps are no longer in the "beta" stage and become v3.1 you will not incorporate the Map1 and Map2 together but have them separated so customers who have not hooked up the remote map switcher can just simply upload the Doomsday or Non-Doomsday map on their own and it will always be on that choosen map? Is that correct? |

Back on topic... is the reason for this thread mainly for ATs or will I notice any benifits with my manual? I'm just curious if I should switch.

Thanks again man, that was a blast. Probably the most fun I've had in a car since the Nurburgring...

Just installed it on the 6MT and love it. It feels very smooth and the car has a quite a bit more low end than before. (was running a doomsday Map 2 before) |

I'd like to get some feedback from someone that was running the regular Map 2 before. That's what I'm running now.

Remember that if you flash to the maps Shiv posted, you'll need firmware too. If you want to go back to the map you're running now, make sure you have the firmware you're running backed up. |

my car sounds like that giant pod racer in star wars

Car runs great. Always sounded good before. Now between 2500 and 5000 (or more) rpm it does this weird pulsing thing. It seems to pull smooth. Just sounds funny. (exhaust timing maybe ???). Anyone else ? |

are you sure about this? I asked shiv this question in the past and he said firmwares are designed to be backwards compatible...

Maybe it's only the case with V3 maps, but I'll guarantee that if you want to go back to V2, and you are currently running the PNP V3 then there is no way that it will work.

that is obvious... I wasn't talking about that scenario. I guess it all depends on what types of revisions are done that will determine the backwards compatibility of the firmware.

I'm waiting for the 09 335i with (obviously) MSD V81, can someone confirm if the PROcede V3 is detectable, with a fair amount of certainty? With all else stock, what can I expect in terms of HP and TQ? Do I have to run Non-Doomsday only for non-detectability? THX! Great thread.

Hrmm, been running the new firmware and maps for a couple of days now. While it is smooth, I am not sure I am in agreement with the boost to throttle mapping; it may be a bit too aggressive for me. There is more boost with less throttle than the previous iteration leaving little to nothing left when 100% throttle is applied.

And yes, always install the appropriate firmware to for a specific map. There are far too many variables to account for not to take the extra minute to load the firmware.
