Thanks all.
Compared to stock is well, a BIG ASTRICS...
This is why I say that.... with 29.2 being added to my car, my exhaust (stock) got SUBSTANTIALLY louder, so, now installing this performance exhaust (which you can literally look straight through) it is poppy/burbly/throatier/louder. However, I speculate that whenever (if ever) BMW fixes 29.2 and hence fixes the wastegate duty cycles, this exhaust my get quieter, in the same ratio that the stock exhaust was quieter pre 29.2, under low to no boost situations. Hope that makes sense.

Anyway, to not dodge your question above, I'd say it's 25% louder. I did close the windows and test it out, and you hear it in cabin (accelerating) about 50% more, but at cruise, you don't hear it at all, which is what I hope I continue to experience and what I wanted.

Just to reemphasize, on the decel video, I am FORCING the car to burble/pop by feathering the throttle. If I would have just let it fully decelerate, it would have been much quieter.

To answer the tip size question, they are slightly larger than stock, but it is decieving...two things...the stock tips are "attached" over top of the true pipe. These tips ARE the pipe. They are welded to it. Also, the stock tips are "puffy rolled" material, where these are slim and solid, so they look "thinner" if that make sense. The inside diamerter of the Performance ones are approx 0.5 inches bigger (again, due to not being "rolled"). They are nice and shiny though!

it wouldve been a lot better if you took a before an after exhaust video clip... then we have something to gauge it with using the same camera/microphone. In the first video, was that a muffler delete ? you wanted to hear what your car sounded like w/o mufflers?

What an absolute waste of $1600 for a set of mufflers. You could have done all this and more with a set of magnaflow mufflers + saved more weight + saved $1100.

H8R. If he enjoys it, then that's all that matters. I don't care if he bought a solid palladium exhaust for $20,000,000. If he likes it, then so be it.
Great review though. If you have any more pics and videos (like you having the camera behind you and taking off @WOT and another quality flyby @WOT) I'm sure you will help quite a few of us out.

Well, maybe it's only me, but I am a little disappointed about this "performance exhaust". For the same money you can get the SS mufflers which I expect would have been a great alternative providing the same power gains. The BMW performance exhaust looks like stock with different tips.

However it keeps the all mighty BMW warranty in place. Thus the price tag.

I figure most people know what a stock 335 sounds like. Didn't really want to waste time recording things on my stock car.

Muffler delete? You could say that. You obviuosly have to cut the stock mufflers off to put on the new ones, so yes...that is "muffler delete".

I could also maybe consider a Pacesetter exhaust...Weapon R intake...etc etc. I will not be putting crap parts on my $50k car.

It's a friggin cat back, and actually really just a "forward of the muffler back", given the BMW piping, for crying out loud. You're going to get, what, MAYBE 5-8 hp out of any cat back system? Anyone adding just a third section exhaust with expectations of noticable power is smoking something. "It's all fo decoration!" to quote Lil' Sis.

I'm not sure why a few people are surprised that the mufflers themselves appear "stock". A) why would BMW waste money when they have perfectly good housings in which to build a new system? B) The best way for an exact fit of tips, hangers, bolts, etc is obviously to use something with the exact same measurements as what came on the car. You can not botch the placement of the mufflers with this system, since you really physically don't have a way to mess it up (you could cut the pipes wrong, but I'm talking about mounting the new parts incorrectly). There are ZERO fitment issues with this system, of course.

Unless deafness is a factor, or your PC doesn't have speakers, I beleive the videos dispell the "OMFG It's $1600 FOR STOCK MUFFLERS AND SNINY TIPS" comments...I know my buddies camera didn't record the BEST audio, but it's not THAT bad.

My comment was not ment as any kind of an offense, I just said I would have preferred something which looks different, my friend . Your catback should gain 6 hp @ 6000 rpm, which most catbacks should do.

ezatnova...Congrats man...I love it. Don't worry about all the negativity. Some people have an issue with money. If you like em that's cool and that's all that matters. Since money is not an issue with me either, I'm gunna order a set too. I hope I can get them for an sedan???

Sounds great and thanks for the review of the noise levels and clips.

The problem that I have with my 325is with a Rogue Engineering DMS exhaust is that while sounding great, it is very deep and aggressive/loud-to the point I am setting off car alarms and in the cabin it can be easily heard.

I didn't want that on my 335i. Glad to to see it's not ridiculous.

Congrats on your new purchase!

RB you can get them for the sedan, but possibly not just quite yet. I assume very soon though.

I do wish I could say how much of the exhaust loudness is attributable to 29.2. After driving a bit more today, I do sometimes notice a mild drone around 2700 rpm, which somewhat annoys me. If it continues to annoy me, I could always sell it...I'm sure a lot of you on here are more tollerant than I am and would love it. Also, I could see taking a ride with a BMW employee and having them give their opinion, since it says "never intrusive" as a quote of the exhaust description. Then again, they said "we have eliminated lag" and with 29.2...well, you know the rest of the story.

Okay, just so I am on the same page as everyone, is this just a set of mufflers? I kept hearing cat-back, but it looks like the secondary cats are untouched.

As for the tips, to each his own. I might just swap in my Dimisa tips to the Dinan or BMW performance exhaust when it is time...

are these made by Remus as well? I heard that Remus makes the stock BMW OEM mufflers and rebadges them as BMW... does that apply here as well?

When you say "look different", you must mean the mufflers themselves? I'm assuming that, since the tips do look substantially different. Personally, seeing as how the tips are the only thing you ever see, unless climbing under the car, I couldn't care less what the mufflers look like, and the fact that the external shell matches the stock ones only means that it installs and lines up perfectly. The key is that the INSIDE of those stock-looking muffler shells isn't stock!

Argh, I can't remember off the top of my head, I don't think it is Remus. It is stamped with a "brand" or something, that begins with the letter B (no, not BMW, lol!). The point is, the muffler shells, both stock and Performance, are both stamped with this "brand". So...while I can't support your Remus theory, I do support the theory that both versions are manufactured by the same group.

That is the definition of cat-back, though. If it removed the cats, and were more than the muffler section, it would be turbo back or DP back, etc.
