Here is another shot of Hojin coming up to PM locks. In the foreground is another car-carrying ship. They all have the same look to them. It seems to be anchored for some reason. Maybe it didn't make it through the locks (northbound) in time, as they only run the traffic one way in the morning and the other way in the afternoon. If sdslayer was here, he could check AIS and tell us which ship that is. It is probably heading back to Bremerhaven for more cars.
Here she is about to enter the Miraflores locks. The high-res is well worth watching now.

Here's Hojin in the locks, with the water level already dropped down. Big crowd on hand to watch the goings-on!

Why don't we all try sending emails to have the camera switched to look south?

One night we tracked a ship through MF (after dark) and there was a big party on that rooftop with party tables, decorations, everyone was dressed up, eating, drinking. The group of us online who were watching the ship, also enjoyed the party, kind of.

Go ahead. I have done it before and they have switched camera angles (sometimes, not always). I will send one now.

If that is a cruise ship coming through the Pedro Miguel Lock right now, they won't switch camera angles for anything. They get top priority because people from around the world track the ships their families are cruising on; they like to see their "families" go through the locks, as we like to see our "cars" go through.

Nope. That is a cargo ship. I don't know why they don't switch to the south view.

There's another ship behind the cargo ship that's now entering the locks. That other ship might be a cruise ship -- it appears to have a white hull.

One time I was tracking a ship through (can't remember if it was Hojin last time, or I was tracking a ship for my dealership, which I do sometimes), and a damn Disney cruise ship took up the first lane of the MF lock and the WHOLE camera view, just as the ship I was tracking came through. The camera operator made sure he zoomed in on that Disney ship and it entirely blocked the ship I was tracking!

Don't know which Disney crossing you saw, but there may have been about 331,000 reasons to focus on that particular one:

updated ETA?

SPN, based on your experience, and now knowing that Hojin has transited (3 days late, right?) what would you guess for ETA's?

It will take six to seven days for Hojin to reach San Diego. Just for the fun of it, you can keep an eye on marinetraffic.com (zoom in on the Baja area) to watch for Hojin coming up the Baja Coast. We should see her around Friday (maybe Thursday) somewhere in the vicinity of the Baja coast. And, just for the fun of it, I will be watching all week anyways. I haven't even received confirmation that I have a car on a ship, yet. Hopefully that news will come tomorrow then I can really have some fun.

Where do you live? Northern/southern CA or out of state?

I live in Palm Desert, CA which is Southern CA -- probably only 3-4 hrs. drive from Port Hueneme!

I believe the SD port originally showed Hojin arriving 10-3, but last I checked that was changed to 10-5, the same day Port Hueneme was expecting her. Now that she has transited, we'll see if Port Hueneme changes their online calendar.
