Someone that can play with his back to the goal and control the ball and dish it off for an assist if he doesn't score for himself. They sure as hell weren't getting that sort of play from anyone else. I do like seeing Havertz coming along nicely though. I think Timo will have little playing time this season.
You just described Giroud to a T. That's is literally the exact style of play or him. Back to goal, hold up play, link up play, and could score some himself. Chelsea had that before Lukaku came in. They just lost it because Giroud went to AC Milan this year.

Lukaku (28) is a better fit for Chelsea compared to Giroud (34) as he's younger and I think he's a better playmaker in terms of creating assists for his teammates. Yes Giroud was a prolific scorer in his prime but he's not where he used to be. Perhaps another important factor is Lukaku is much more engaged as a teammate and leader within the team. As soon as he arrived at Chelsea the other players vibed with him. He brings another dimension that Giroud did not personality-wise. Ask yourself why Giroud wasn't starting more games if he was such a good fit for them.

As for losing Giroud, they let him go to AC Milan. If they really wanted to keep him they would have.

Giroud has been terrible for a while now. Lukaku is in his prime.

Agreed. Not only that but Lukaku wants to prove himself during his second stint in the EPL.

For the people who stream EPL matches, who do you use? I guess the better question is what is the best deal.

Thanks,

Nobody said Lukaku wasn't a better fit . It's obvious he is a better fit. He also didn't come from a in city rival. Its hard to mesh well with people who you originally hated haha. But yeah I only stated that Lukaku's style of play of being "Someone that can play with his back to the goal and control the ball and dish it off for an assist if he doesn't score for himself" was literally Giroud's style of play.

Also i'm an Arsenal fan and can confirm that Giroud was never a prolific scorer haha. He was know for his linkup play, holdup play, aerial threat, and passing abilities. Look at how he was used in the world cup France won. He had 0 shots on target, but he started as their sole center forward in almost every game. Why? His great holdup play and his ability to link up with the other attacking players. He was the ideal target man.

Well when I said he's a prolific scorer I was thinking how he's the #2 all time scorer for France only behind Platini.

Again... As an Arsenal fan. He's only behind another Arsenal player, the king, Thierry Henry.

But strictly talking about national teams, a lot of people wouldn't say Henry was "prolific" for France. I think the argument is you have to score on average >0.50 consistently to be considered prolific. Meaning you score a goal every 2 games. While as dominant as he was, Henry was more of him scoring like a regular striker but because he was their best striker for so long he accumulated a lot of caps. I think he has somewhere over 120 international caps. Griezman has about the same amount of goals as Giroud, with less caps, and as a winger but they wont say he's prolific either.

If we talking prolific national goal scorer I think the only person I know off the top of my head and got to see film playing was who you mentioned, Platini. He scored basically every other game for the French national team. Baller.

Yeah I think I chose the wrong word "prolific". LOL. As for Lukaku and his new start at Chelsea, I suppose he can be called prolific since he's got 3 goals to his name in 3 games.

I still haven't seen a view of Stuijk foul that shows it to be a straight red, other than the fact the medics didn't even wait to be invited onto the pitch. Replays aren't very close that I have seen, and live it didn't look intentional or reckless.

Salah has got to be the happiest player in the EPL!

I checked DAZN and in USA we don't get premier league games.

I got Peacock TV streaming and Man U and Liverpool games this past weekend were not live and I would have to watch on replay the next day. I think I should just get a VPN and use amazon UK prime.

I'm pretty sure those games you referred to were broadcast live on channels here in the US including NBCSN. Sometimes games are broadcast on USA network as well. The normal NBC channel also televises EPL games sometimes.

I know for sure I saw the Man U game on live TV this past weekend as well as Liverpool.

Why the f*** is it necessary for Salah to take his jersey off after scoring a goal? Wants to show off his abs?

So Liverpool won, but Man City drew. Next top of the table teams are Chelsea and Man U. Both Sunday.

I'm still convinced Chelsea would've beat them if Reece James didn't get a red card. They were outplaying them up to that point.
