Here are some answers to some of the questions asked:

- The PROcede is not going to be a substitute for the BT software. It will not offer that level of diagnostic ability. It is well beyond the scope of what we want to do with it. Instead, the PROcede will take a more functionality-based approach and use the newly acquired CANdata to improve upon what it already does best. Those to have purchased the BT software have made a very good decision. And those who were planning to purchase it should still do so.

- The upgrade price for current Rev2 users will be nominal. Maybe $25 and will include the new add-on harness wires. Nope, you cannot use old v2 harness bits for this. Different connectors on the rev.2 hardware.

- No one currently running a rev.2 has the harness update. Even those who have *just* received their unit. The changes are being implemented with the batch of harnesses that are currently in manufacture right now.

- Yes, the new BT software helped us achieve this level of functionality. Not to mention Duram who was actually helpful in providing us the info we needed to get this ball rolling. Companies actually helping other companies out. What a novel concept

- Yep, with CAN interface, we will have access to all sorts of ECU data. Which will allow us to provide incredible functionality to the PROcede. Like scalbert said, it will basically bridge the gap between piggy-back and flash. Each of their strengths with none of their individual shortcomings. Or at least that is the plan.

- And yes, DD maps will no longer be needed as well can program the PROcede to clear all codes automatically upon shut-down or start-up.

Cheers,
shiv

Shiv, will some of the functions/features here work with Rev I???

Agreed. I've done the same thing as you and have upgraded each time. There should be significant discount for those that upgraded from v1 to v2 to v3 PNP, assuming you bought it all directly from Vishnu. spending another couple of hundred dollars really adds up.

honestly, i will NOT get this upgrade (even as good as it sounds) unless they really cut us a break for v1 to v2 to v3 customers.

The Rev.2 discount/upgrade price of $695 is still in effect for all original Rev.1/v3 owners. And by no means is this going to be a necessary upgrade. The PROcede already works plenty fine without CANbus integration.

Can you make this permanent for all V3 owners? I'd like to see some of this implemented before spending the $$. Damn economy.

You helped Terry and now Duram helps you. Sort of like pay-it-forward.

As Shiv said, those of you on the fence should purchase the BT cable, great product and great support.

Rev.1 will still support all the new maps that we post. We just wont be able to support the following:

1) CANbus integration
2) Built-in o2 sim/modifier
3) Methanol triggering (without the loss of speed delimiter/torque nanny feature)

I suppose anything is possible. But I don't have idrive. Nor do many of our customers. When we do something, we'd like to make it useable by everyone.

Will the CANbus integration make for an even better "autotune" feature

With CANbus integration, I'd say that everything should be better. More information in, better tune out.

1) The code clearing feature will just be our first CANbus related add-on. After that, things will be more functionality-based. ie, CAN info will influence the tune.

2) Ok.

3) Ok.

Looks like I'll be selling my Rev I and looking to get a new Rev II.

Shiv,

Do you see this harness upgrade as the only harness upgrade to have CAN integration? or are we likely to see another upgrade later down the road for other CAN features?

Awesome work Shiv!

I would like to see selected map data in the dash . . . and perhaps an instantaneous boost value similar to instantaneous mpg though it obviously won't be correct (as of now). How bout a v= MPH readout like the m3? This is such an amazing update. At first it seemed that the piggybacks were just fighting all of the engine-dme interfaces and now the procede is doing things with them that a piggyback could never do before.
