Does the transmission programming have to adapt to the JB+ as well? I installed mine last night and the trans seemed to take an extra second before it kicked down, during which you could hear the turbos really light up. Normal?

But then after some cooling time, power doesn't seem to increase much further. So again, with 1-2 full WOT runs, you should be adapted to the tune. The stock ECU might adapt more with driving now as you'll surely drive a bit more aggressively so that could and probably does equate to better acceleration as well. I doubt the JB+ needs as much adapting as the JB3 however. There's just more going on with the JB3 that would require adapting. Another reason I think the JB3 1.2 Map 6 results on 93-94 Octane were a bit (4-5 rwhp and rwtq) lower than what it would of done with a bit more proper cooling and another run or two of adaptation. |

Any idea how the JB+ reacts to 91 octane at greater than default settings? Say 75% cranked? I'm stuck in CA and here all we get is 91 at the vast majority of stations.

I have mine cranked @ 90% (one click before the max setting) since last wednesday and so far no issues.

It is extremely easy to use. Plug one end to the car, the other to a laptop. Start the program. Check and delete codes.

Oh, we also checked my car for codes on the BT as well.
There wasn't one single code on my car. I have run PROcede v2, v3, JB3 1.0 and 1.2 on my car. And even with the JB+ on 91 Octane at max setting it did not throw a fault code of any kind. But again, my car is pre 29.2 ![]() |

But I would guess at anything above the 75% setting, it's pulling some timing or very minorly knocking. The JB+ just isn't as advanced a tuning tool as the JB3 and therefore it can't maximize the power for the lower octane gas. Let me say this to you as well, which is a testament to the JB+ needing 93 Octane to be set above 75% for best use. The JB+ on 93-94 octane on DEFAULT setting put down a bit more power than the JB+ on 91 Octane on max setting. So even though on max setting and making MORE boost, the JB+ made 3-4 rwhp less on 91 than it did on the lower default setting with 93-94 octane. (~325 rwhp vs ~321). 91 Octane state owners should keep it at the default setting if they don't want to worry about warranty codes (though they may get away with 75% in the cooler weather). If the 313 rwhp is not enough for them your best bet is just to spend the couple hundred extra buck for the JB3 run map 5 or 6 in the weather that's below 85-90 degrees, and run map 3 or 4 in temps above 85-90 degrees. You'll enjoy 25-30 rwhp peak more and probably 40 rwhp more at 6000-7000 rpms all the while not worrying about warranty codes. |

Default is 2.5+ psi?
Default is 50% setting? Each turn of the jb+ = how much percentage increase ? Or how much % increase ?

Default is 2.75 psi increase Max is 5 psi increase. I'm not sure how many "clicks" or whatever is involved in the JB+, I did not look at that too closely, I just held the flashlight for Terry as he did the adjustment turns. But it would probably be pretty easy to figure out based on what I just posted. Again, I wouldn't go much above the default setting on 91 Octane if you have a post 29.2 car. And if you have a pre 29.2 car I wouldn't go above 3.75-4 psi (about 75-80%) anyway, as the last 1 psi doesn't seem to give much gain without 93+ Octane and may in fact cause the stock ECU to pull a bit too much timing or induce small amounts of knock. |
