Sounds like a bunch of bad blood... Personally if you don't like the product, that's for you to choose (netvader).... I've made my choice, you've made yours... Not sure what the issue is between you and shiv, but that's your problem, not mine and I'd rather not know about it... So bak to the point of this thread...

The cricle-jerk around NetVader is funny, nonetheless the whole safety thing gets trumped every 6months of significant upgrades. With all that was written today, it makes the JB2, JB3, V2 and V3 Rev I look like the most unsafe platforms ever distributed since Vishnu wants to indict anyone not doing it the current CANBus way as a wanton disregard for safety.
I actually agree with that assertion and am glad that you focused on realtime feedback from the engine to better align the PROcede's output response. But it also makes Shiv a used-car salesman for all his previous tunes pushing the same safety mantra. I'll wait 6 more months till the current CANbus gets superceded with another platform from Vishnu as the 'only' way to do N54 tuning right.. You still gets mad props for the work though. Go PROCede! |

Now, with CANbus integration, we can take safety measures to a whole new level. And we have been doing just that. Does that mean that other "less safe" options are dangerous or that they "disregard" safety? Well, that depends on what your idea of safety is and what compromises you are prepared to make for "more power". Our goal has always been to offer as much power as we can without unnecessarily sacrificing safety margin. So that rules out the "more boost" approach. Which means that we actually had to go back to the drawing board and work for our supper. Customers ultimately win out in the end. So all is good. Quote:

the way you are advertising the safety measures in your new CANBUS procede, you are making it sound like everything before this, even the REV 1 and older are so obsolete that they are no longer considered "safe". Even though when the JB3 JB2 Procede Rev 1 were introduced to the market, all of them claimed to be SAFE and will not do any real harmful damage except the normal regular wear and tear from running a turbo engine. So are you saying, those who don't have the CANBUS are basically screwed since we can't monitor knocking or our own oil temps?
And why is it good to monitor knocking? Isn't the whole point to try and make a tune/map that doesn't knock in the first place? Having a tune keep count of how often it knocks isn't going to help me sleep better at night, especially since it shouldn't be knocking in the first place. I'm starting to think that with all the UT adjustments and settings the Procede has to offer, some are beginning to dial their own settings that will make the car knock.. so the code clearing functionality is a must now. Are we going to forever be beta testing your maps? |

Either way, my suggestion is to make like Netvader and leave this thread peacefully. Also, please enjoy your jb3 more so that you have less time to post in threads that have nothing to do with you. Shiv |

Shiv,
Thanks once again for the innovations. Please just ignore the haters. Anyone who has anything in their head to stop a flashlight shining from one ear out thru the other ear knows there's (1) variance from car to car, (2) octane rating matters, and (3) temperature, humidity, and elevation change. All of these mean that tunes need to be adjustable versus based upon static maps. Once you get the loop closed and have an automatically adjusting tune based upon current conditions, no one with any intelligence would choose an atavistic tune instead. It really is this simple: static tunes aren't as good as ones that continuously adapt to changing conditions. That's why all the good modern ECUs do continuous adjustments. The OEMs aren't dummies. |

i know i have nothing to do with this, but it sucks to see people point fingers and mock people like Shiv.. im sure it would kill them to ask a reasonable question or two that would clear the air!
Anyways, great work Shiv, and although Im tune-free (legal) the PROcede would seem really cool to have :P

Shiv,
Two questions: 1. Is this new firmware/software going to be compatible with the Rev.I users? 2. Is there going to be a write-up of what each new features/options do(such as ignition correction/advance, etc.), and how do adjust them accordingly to maximize the HP/TQ? (For those of us who aren't too familiar with custom tuning cars.) TIA
