That would be amazing...not just because there is a sales target, but logistically I would be very impressed. I'm in Philly so I would think in the transportation world it's the same as NYC/NJ.

All I need to do is book the insurance and show the credit union as a lienholder--that can be handled overnight (i.e. insurance is instant, but the check for the loan would be overnighted). I'll call my CA tomorrow to see, but if not Sat. 12/2, I'm still ok if I can do it 12/9, actually prefer it, but if I knew the car were here and available, don't think I can resist!

I am truly jealous. I have spent lots of time in Graubunden Switzerland skiing and I think that is one of the most beautiful places I have traveled to. The roads there are absolutely perfect for a BMW. If I had my act together sooner I would have done a ED as well. As a kid my father took ED of several MB's and it was always a great time!

Hey Shafer, when you decide to change your 328, do ED, is the best experience. Actually I think I'll never buy from the lot again, I saved 5K doing ED and not all was spent on an already planned vacation. Win win. Roads and scenery are magnificent, specially on the Austrian, Italian and Swiss alps, besides you get to speed your car in a way you will never be able to in the US. I do not think I will ever see 140 mph on the speedometer of my car ever again. Hopefully the ED program is maintained at its level and improved. Other Makers offer hotel nights, transportation, even plane tickets, in addition to the generous discount on the car. BMW offers only the discount and a lunch at the facility, but still no complaints about it.

According to BMW USA, my car is still "in transit", which means it hasn't hit the VPC yet. I'm not sure how accurate the phone line is though.

Yea dont trust BMW NA, i just finish calling and its saying that my car is on port awaiting shipping vessel. And my CA said he has a work order for thursday. So friday i'll probly will have my baby in my driveway.

Exactly what a work order means, doing routine work to prepare the car for distribution to the dealer, or for example to do some software updates .

I have been following this thread with interest as my car was on board the Freedom. Just received a call from my CA that my car is leaving the port on Wednesday and will be ready for delivery on Thursday or Friday. Car purchased from Otto's BMW in West Chester, PA a few miles from Philly. Can't wait to get behind the wheel. For those interested car was ordered 10/19. The port as in VCP in New York. Philadelphia area cars come out of the New York center so the car is going on a truck transport, it is not still on the Freedom. Sorry for the confusion.

WOW WEEE, so the Dec 4th date that my SA advanced me is not unrealistic. If trucked on Wednesday, ample time to get to Florida by Monday, or better yet on the weekend. Counting the hours now......

Work order is what its going to be done at the dealer. For example: Tints,Cd Changer,speacial mats,etc.... The only thing i have extra are the tints, but he said he might not even be able to do it, because the guy is on vacation. So most likely i will get my car without the tints. Its not like i care, i just want to drive the car. I'm So F-ing excitted. :rocks:

Hey guys, any more news ?, My SA works only Wed-Sat 10 AM WPT so I still can't get a hold of him to tell me where is my baby now. Crossing fingers that it is already on I-95 going South. Kind'a high expectation but wont hurt. Good luck.

The way I see it, nobody has any proof yet as to whether or not our cars have gone through VPC and if exactly when the dealers will get them. A work order doesn't mean crap. It just means that there's an appointment in the service department to do something to a car, but if that car isn't there, what good is it.

ParaDiddle is right, I emailed my SA, he says his system tells him car did arrived at "port" on 11\26 but nothing else. I asked him to see if car has gone truough VPC already, no response yet, so we'll see who gets better news.

I've given mine an in$centive to deliver my car by Saturday afternoon, and I talk to him every day. He doesn't have a verified date yet but he says it's quite possible that the car could show up at the dealership before he get's an official date.
