Yeah, I figured they would update the date with another delay, as of last night they had way too much ocean to cover to make Halifax by the 26th.
Ah well...what're we gonna do? |

It is interesting that the AIDA is taking the longest to reach of any of the ships to leave BREMERHAVEN this year (2007). Only the ATLANTIC CONVEYOR's voyage that began on 08/09/2006 took longer (by 1 day) to reach NY (19 days vs a currently projected 18 for the AIDA) since July 25th, 2006. Most ships seem to take 14 days to make the voyage from BREMERHAVEN to NY. The next most voyage length is 17. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the AIDA doesn't try for the record... - SR |

Ordered in October and the car went into production the last week of December. And the most annoying part is that it was sitting at the port in Bermehaven for like 10 days before being loaded on the Aida... I was 100% it would be on the Atlantic Concert which left on the 7th of January and has already come and gone from Halifax. The car would have been in Montreal already... So not only did it not get loaded on the ship it should have, it got loaded on the ship that took the longest time to arrive... |

You all definitely have waited longer than me. I ordered on 12/6 and went into production 12/20. My car arrived at Bremerhaven and was on the AIDA 2 days later.
So, while I share the angst of the AIDA delays, overall it's still looking like 8 weeks from order to delivery for me. For everyone's sake, I hope we don't see any more delays! |

Yeah, still looks like about a 8am 1/27 arrival in Halifax though. Hopefully they get in and out and stay on time for the next leg from Halifax to NYC where my car will be getting off.

Looks like AIDA is about 18 hours away (about 290 naut. miles) from Halifax. I would guess that she would need to slow down as she gets near port (and to avoid the shoals around Sable Isalnd). So it looks like we're still on track for an arrival tomorrow. - SR |

Fantastic! What has everyone been told in terms of time it takes from landing in Halifax to being delievered to the dealership? I was told up to 3+ weeks! Sounds a bit long???

3+ weeks? Yikes. I was told that if the AIDA docks in NY on the 29th, that I can pick it up on the 31st. I understand that the VPC is very close to my dealer, but I dont see why the Halifax VPC would take so long to process a car. - SR |

Also, my understanding is that cars that are ordered by customers (pre-sold) are sent through the VPC before cars that are just going to dealer stock. You may want to confirm with your CA that it is going to take 3+ weeks. - SR |

Thanks for that tidbit. I pray you are right! The train ride alone from Halifax to Calgary is probably at least a 5 day trip if not more so I have to imagine that within 2 weeks is reasonable!
