Would appreciate it if you could address the other 2 concerns as well. Fitment is rather poor, even with the center console.

2. Missing one installation pin for the dash trim. I think one requires 7 pins for the whole front dash and there were only 6 in the zip loc bag.

3. How hard is it to install the ashtray trim? It's like impossible. I've taken off the OEM trim but cannot for the life of me install the CF trim.

Thanks.
I am having the ash tray problem and the start engine button problem
also, i cant get center piece in right, but that part is probley my error and i will work on it tonight

POSTING FOR KANISHKL:

I can't get the storage bin in properly (center console, near the armrest). It fits in but its not flush with the trim and is visible to the eye. I usually get great service from JLEVI SW so just a little disappointed with the quality of these products. Hopefully they'll sort it out.

Dremel. This past summer, I spent around two hours 'dremeling' and fitting. Dremel, try and fit, then repeat. Also, I tore the wood cover off the plastic piece and used the remaining plastic as the base.

I had the same problem. Stretch the clips around the 'start/stop' button. It won't be as firm as the OEM feel, but it will get the job done. I did that in July and it has held so far. Hopefully it keeps holding, as it is a serious pain to install the trim.

Thanks, will definitely try it out. Just a little disappointed as I didn't expect to encounter these problems. Plus, as you said, installing the trim is just such a pain in the ass.

I'm pretty shocked at this. I will find out more, but at $350, the kits are somewhat "as is" in terms of imperfect fitment.

I will get you guys new ash trays if possible, though!

Well, guys, I have this to say:

JLevi has been in the business of selling BMW parts for some time now. They have an excellent reputation, and in general, I would not hesitate to do business with them.

This carbon trim non-fitment business is a bummer, for sure. I personally dealt with it while installing someone's trim, and I know it's annoying.

However, when this kit first came in, pretty much no-one bought it, at retail price. So no-one knew about these fitment issues. So, since no-one bought it, JLevi had to make the decision to blow it out under cost, just to clear inventory, without the idea of restocking.

I've heard from JLevi some time ago that their COST on these kit's is upwards of $500. For them to sell at $350 is a LARGE loss. That being said, the level of product support that a company is expected to provide for a "blowout, clearance, not-gonna-stock-again" product is to be expected as something less than perfect.

This is NOT an excuse for JLeviSW to blow anyone off if their trim doesn't fit right.

This IS however, intended as a sort of justification to a Caveat Emptor attitude. Buyer beware, guys.

Like I said, I will not hesitate to do business with JLeviSW. I, in fact, was going to purchase one of these kits, but stock ran out before money ran in.

I agree, they are good people. But as you said, there is no excuse for them to sell a product that his fitment issues. I'm looking forward to resolving this issue with them because I'm confident in the fact that they take good care of their buyers.

Thanks for the explanation, Matt. You are indeed correct, that we're in essence losing around $200 per kit when we sell these at this price.

We ARE going to resolve the ashtrays, because they don't fit at all, but as for minor imperfections, that is something I probably won't be able to address.
We'd rather be up front and honest with you guys than give everyone false hope that we're going to be able to ship everyone complete new kits.

Can someone show me photos?

Matt I agree to a point, BUT, in my mind, for example, if you go to a dealership, there's a big difference between buying an end of the run, previous model car and an "as in" car

buyers know before hand that buying the car as is is going to get a car not in its tip top condition, while buying a previous model car, it's going to be tip top, just not the newest style
