I keep hearing people talk about how the M3 has such better handling and everything, what if you take a 335 with Bilstein Pss9's, 275/30/19's, sway bars, and limited slip? Dont you think it will outhandle the E46 M3?

Thats what i'm thinking about doing. I think the 335 is a great car and way easier to tune and get real power out of.

Yes.
Actually the stock e92 335i Coupe handling wise isn't far off the e46 M3.
Just changing the tires makes it an even race at a track.

Add suspension, rear sway, and brakes and the 335i will creep away from the E46 M3 at a track.
Add the PROcede and forget about it, the E46 M3 doesn't have a chance.
That's what my new coupe will be like.
I already miss my PROceded sedan. It was such a beast.

It's actually not too bad of a price.
Not the greatest sure, but not too bad.
Maybe get the Drive off down to $2K, then you have a pretty nice deal.
It's tough getting anything more than $1500 off the MSRP of the Coupe's, they are just too in demand but the supply is small.

m3 will lose big time from every ecu tuned 335. it would be maybe a close call on the track but on the real life highway battles the m3 need to go 7000 rpm all the time to be able to read the registration number of the 335.

torque :-)

I have an 03 M3 and an 07 335i. My M3 has coilovers...full exhaust...intake and software...it will not hang with a Procede'd 335.

I have an '06 E46 M3 & an '07 335 sedan. There is no way the 335 handles as well. I don't car what number some mags pulled for G's or whatever. That's not handling, that's grip.

The M3 sticks better, turns in better, is more adjustable with the throttle, & is MUCH MUCH more stable at speed, especially inder braking. I take my M3 around the circuit quiet often.

Having said all that the 335 handles pretty well, but is a bit exposed with the lack of LSD. With 19" tyres like my M3 has it might be a bit better. But it's design brief was different to that of a 335.

Exactly or else why do M3 owners change their suspensions in the same way if you do both to each car how is the M3 still going to handle better lol.I think is its funny when people are like "There is NO way a 335 can outhandle an M3 it's impossible" haha why because the badge does magic?

If you have the same Bilstein springs/shocks on the M3 and 335, the M3 should still be a hair better. It is after all at least 150lbs lighter and probably has a lower CG.

It's not magic, it's physics.

The M3 is much more relaxed cruising at speeds above 100mph, the 335i is has much more nervous/softer feel to it. Also, if you are a passenger in the 335i, you will notice how it seems to pitch more laterally over bumps, etc, compared to the M3. Not as harsh over sharp bumps, but more irritating in the way it responds in normal fwy driving over expansion joints, etc.

You "M heads" are truly fanbois. I for one love the M3 and my brother has an 04 6spd. But to say that the 335 is no where near in comparison handling wise is just ignorant. It is widely known that if there was anything the e46 lacked, it was in the handling department. Too much understeer, a bit soft springs and grip was just slightly above average. Now this for an "M" was a little disappointing as my brother even admitted, compared to say the e36 m3. The lsd and better tires(contis or ps1's) and wider track certainly help as an edge over the 335, but not as much as it should. Bottom line is both cars stock are pretty similar, about 4 seconds on the nurburgring similar, but they both weigh too damn much!

BTW brusso, I think you should've pulled much more than you did in that video. Do you have euro headers?? If so, isn't that one of the best mods(gains wise) you can do to an m3? My brother with intake, mid pipes, exhaust and pullies pulled about 2 cars on my stock 335 from 40-100. M3 gearing is no joke and high end they'll walk a 335, even stock for stock. Btw, we are both 6mt's.

Hmm really? I didn't think so. My proceeded car feels like it's going 80 when I'm at 110. No twitchiness at all. Same goes for my brothers car, but he has suspension mods so you can feel the road a bit more.

I agree... 110 felt like 80. It was really solid feeling. Not sure what you were feeling.
