It truly is in the diet. YOU HAVE TO EAT CLEAN. Get your protein from natural sources like cottage cheese, eggs, red meat, fish etc...with good fats and and you will be lean, eat heavy complex carbs and primarily starches, and you will blow up, eat fast food and garbage, you will look like shit. Calories in vs calories out. Thats the name of the game gents, stop wasting your money on protein supps they are the greatest scam ever! Even most protein bars have become just as unhealthy as candy bars. For the guys who religiously use protein or other supps, try substituting all your protein intake with whole food sources and I guarantee in a couple months you will look and feel 10x's better. Plus all the shit you put into your body in pill form, or liquid, stresses the liver. Why do that? Maybe for a meal replacement or something quick to eat on the go, but I would try and lay off the bars, shakes, pills and all that junk. Just my opinion.
Because it's not always easy to eat full, complete balanced meals. They are called supplements for a reason, because they are meant to be supplements to your normal diet/routine/whatever.

I would have to wake up a 4:00 am to cook breakfast, let it digest so I don't vomit all over the gym, not get to work until 8:30 to eat something else.

Instead, I make a fancy shake with protein, fruit, peanut butter and milk, and make a "brocuccino" for my drive to work (coffee and chocolate protein powder). I eat some more when I finally get to work.

You know how much i would have to eat to get the nutrition and daily servings I need per day without supplements?.... Adding supplements does no harm as long as you also eat right.

That's my whole point.

You don't have to use supplements at all (at least nutritionwise) because you could theoretically hit all the numbers you want to with food, but that's a huge pain in the ass.

I know I don't want to be driving to work in the morning gnawing on chicken breast after chicken breast when I can have a protein shake to achieve the same numbers

And no preaching coming from me, I'm agreeing with you.

hmm so that's what I do wrong...
I have never taken any supplements/protein... lol
But I do try and have decent healthy meals... for like 2 out of my 4 meals a day... Tuna, eggs, chicken, turkey... etc.
Maybe when i actually lose the fat I want to, I'll try some muscle building supplements.

Since this bout supplements. I'll give my suggestion for aome supplements that actually work.

Superpump by gasperi nutrition
muscle marinade ( thanks will for the tip in that)

White flood by creative labs.

Drop the protein bars and use the powder.

Me? I'm not preaching to you about nutrition or anything like that, I'm just sharing/suggesting advice and expertise learned from years of NCAA div 1 sports and a short stint as a professional hockey player in my early 20's. Many people on here, and everywhere, are mis-informed about nutrition and supplements. Trust me, everything out there that works is powered by caffeine or niacin to give you the impression that it really works.....NOTHING IN THE SUPPLEMENT MARKET IS RATED, TESTED, OR EVALUATED BY THE FDA. Most of these companies are just trying to make a couple bucks, then close down and rename themselves in a few years to present new "ground-breaking" products. Research takes too long, and its way too expensive.
Even then, if you buy into the whole protein mis-education thing, our bodies can only take 40 grams of protein at a sitting, if you take more than that at one time you are definitely wasting your money, and spending too much time in the toilet! I have to agree with some of what guys said on here about convenience drinking shakes and eating bars.....but because its convenient doesn't mean that it is the best way to do it.

Yes a lot of products are BS, but there are some that are actually more than just caffeine or niacin. Every persons body is different also. From years of trial and error you find out whats bs and whats not. A human body was not designed to be a 300lb piece of muscle, that's where supplements come in. There is no such thing as "going natural" for body building.

I see what you are saying....I def think that creatine works to a certain extent, and some NO2 supps work as well. Everybody's physiology is different and responds differently to certain substances so it is good to try things, but do it with caution. I have a doctor friend of mine that suggested a while ago that protein supplementation is extremely strenuous on the liver and kidneys, which at the time sounded ridiculous to me, but as I learned more about supplementation and how our body digests protein and supplements, I saw his point. I do agree that protein shakes are way better than protein/meal replacement bars, those are terrible.

Forgot the main point of this thread: Prosource.net pretty good pricing.

You will also never see bodybuilding on mainstream sports networks. Everybody knows what is going on at those competitions, even the so-called "natural" comps.

I def think drugs in sports needs to stop totally, but I see how it got out of control. When you are a young kid and you are sick, you take a pill to get better. If you are depressed you are told to take a pill to get better. If you have high blood pressure, take a pill to get better. If you are balding or cant get an erection.......well u get the point. Then we are going to sit here and tell a high school age kid that there is a pill out there to get him bigger, stronger, more aggressive than other kids and maybe even help him get a scholarship then a pro-sports contract.....but now he shouldn't take that?????
lol no way....we are to blame for this, the pharmaceutical industry is to blame for this.

There is such thing as going natural. All these protein powders were home grown in farms. There is chocolate n cream crops, rocky road fields, and vanilla wheats. Natural bodybuilders alos take photo of their body without the head to prove they are juiced up naturally.

That is a fact!

Prosource.net is the best. I get my stuff no more than 2 days. With $5 shipping.
