oh yeah almost forgot to add in my review...

I highly highly recommend getting new bolts and washers. sorry to say and not knocking down the quality of the pipes...but the damn bolts and washers really do suck lol. i was tightening up a bolt on the exhaust and literally just stripped it right onto the bolt. it took an additional 30 minutes trying to cut the nut off the bolt...serious pita.

I went to lowes and bought some bolts that were the same thread and a little shorter in length...4 bolts, 8 washers (for bolt and nut), 4 nut locks, and 4 bolts. they were sort of bronze in color but were the strong available.

I used the hardware that was included and I had no issues. Look at pics #10 and #11 of my original post.

Hey man! what codes were you throwing? I am throwing P10305 and P0305.
They are misfire codes for cylinder #5. Also, says o2 sensor in bank #1 sensor #2 is bad. Do I just have my sensors crossed? My car does the same thing shakes under any kind of acceleration and then I get SES.

so the car would shake and throw everything single misfire code lol.

but seriously if i had to do it over again it would take less than 3 hours. only took me 2 hours and 15 minutes to reverse the o2 sensors which i had to take everything out except the v clamps on the drivers side so only would have taken another 2 minutes to undo those.

i cant stress it enough....dont forget to put the o2 sensors in the right way lol.

so to the fitment...fitment was really really good. everything lined up so nicely and like where most people had problems with the v clamps taking so long with other brands. well not with this one...seriously it just closed right up like it was oem once you lined it up right.

just make sure you have some good tools though...some extra tools that comes in handy and this install and probably others would be a socket wrench that you can tighten and untighten with a turn of the wrench handle and also a universal socket that bascially turns 90 degrees in every direction. the wrench is for the passenger side heat shield (seriously that took so long to try to cramp my hand in there with a small socket wrench but my buddy told me that he had that special wrench and it was simple to do after that)

overall i am very happy with the dps...definitely hear the turbos spool now. however there is some drone and vibrations in cold start...not horrible but still very noticeable which i dont know if i like. if you look at the oem dps you can tell there is some kind of vibration absorbing neck...sort of like a zig zag in the metal right where it bends.

hope this was worth it though but i cant tell that there is that much more power added...im running cobb stg2 now but only difference is that throttle is linear but seriously you cant notice that much power gains. cant wait to put in my fmic to run stg 2+.

any of you guys know if you actually need the upgraded intake to run the cobb stg2+? it says you need it but seriously i heard the oem air box is pretty efficient...im thinking just a k&n drop in air filter is good enough.

right...i only had a problem with 1 screw and bolt...but still i would not mind just going up there to upgrade to something a little stronger.

remember you have to make sure you have the o2 sensors in right...make sure the black ones are with the same pipe and gray ones with the same pipe.

You have the sensors crossed. The grey wire is the short pipe, black is the long

Make sure they match, back and fourth. Although I haven't personally had any problems, I'll look into upgrading the hardware in the future.

either way its a sweet ass deal...even if i think its worth going out and getting a couple bolts and nuts. only cost me about 6 extra dollars anyway lol.

anyway my main concern was fitment and quality of the actual downpipes and they are awesome...thanks for comin out with this great deal

I think they do have an exhaust in the works. I ordered the DPs. I am waiting for the FMIC so I can go Stage 2+ on with my Cobb.

has anyone else noticed that after installing the downpipes that there is a slight clanking noise right around the end of the transmission area inside the car?

well i noticed it and it really bothered me...it wasnt that loud but i could hear it and only during idle at around 600-700 rpms. took it to the dealership and they looked at it and said that the dps were too close together where they meet the midpipes.

i looked under there myself and noticed there is only like 1mm separating them lol. so i had to take everything apart again and realign then and got it to about 3-4mm apart and seems like got rid of the noise but we will see.

so for you guys that are about to install them make sure you align them right so you dont have to get under there again. on the stock dps there are hangers on top of the cats to be held onto the subframe....however these dps do not come with the hangers.

i looked at pictures of other companies like ar and aa and neither of those come with hangers either...guess they felt they were light enough to just hang there on their own.

anyway if its less than 3mm apart you will get a clanking noise.

Sounds like they were misaligned. It's not due to the lack of hangers, it's more of an installation error

While we love the fact that a lot of guys are DIY'ing, you really need to know what you're doing in order to install a set of downpipes successfully. A few mm in the wrong direction is all it'll take to rub/rattle with 3" pipes. Next time rather than taking it to the dealer, try shooting us a PM or an e-mail. We offer support on our products
