A lot of people run those maps with no supporting mods. They just won;t be consistent... Ethanol definitely helped you Intercooler is a great mod in this car since the stock one sucks.

Thanks buddy. My car wasn't tuned for E50 + meth at the time. I ran with stock exhaust on full weight as well. It's faster now but it's also raining. My ET sucks though Very hard to launch with MT on street tires.

Do you let the car upshift by itself? You can squeeze some more speed by upshifting ~6200 rpms

For the OP,
From what ive seen, its a crap shoot.. It seems like every car responds differently to every tune. Ill give credit where credit is due, a couple of weeks ago a tune only E90 AT on 93 with COBB only ran a 12.9 Anyone who spends time at the track knows it is no small feat to get a tune only consistently into the 12s. Ive seen Proceeds run high 12s as well and JB4 run anywhere from 12.1 to low 13s. A lot comes down to the driver. Thought i would mention Renntech as well, i dont know anything about them, but a guy local here has run 12.0 with that tune. |

i had missfiring issues where i had to let it upshift on its own to 3rd, but now thats sorted out as i replaced the plugs so it will be 62/6300 shifts again. And im all tuned out with 45% Ethanol now. Its running much stronger now. I plan on getting a couple more runs in wednesday b4 the downpipes and then Friday or next week after dps. |

I will let ya know. Im siding with you though. I know I'm losing power up top with the stock intercooler. my logs show the epic IAT rises by 4th gear lol.

Your DME is definitely reducing timing (I can look up the stock map in ATR if you want...). Good news is you will be faster with an intercooler Do you have logs from your runs? I'm curious to know how much timing you are running away with

also fwiw I have FBO Jb4 G5..one thing is when comparing to remember the older boards were limited to around 17psi..the new boards can take all you got..also I have not been to a track but I race a 2011 mustang gt stock all the time..they are supposed to be 12.5 stock..I can give him 3-5 cars head start and still beat him by a bus length from the dig and at a 40 roll..have tons of video to support it..so I would hope to think with a solid run I could be mid 11's..with 60% e85/93 mix and 100% meth I set my boost safety at 20 or 21psiand my logs are clean..that's about all the stockers can handle without Nos..

Guys, again, thank for all the greater answers.
I guess, I just have one more question. From what I gather, jb4 may be a little faster than cobb OTS maps. However, assuming that I will be running 93 octane all the time (nothing less, nothing more), how does a protuned cobb fair against the jb4. I think I've determined that easiness of install/uninstall is not a huge deal for me either way, and it seems like the jb4 g5 board is about as smooth as the cobb. So ultimately, it comes down to a power and money factor. I really want to get the most power I can out of the tune, but the protuned cobb is also about double the price. It seems that the protuned cobb is faster than the jb4, but worth double the price? I realize that is a very subjective question. But, for example, if a protuned cobb would walk a jb4, assuming each car has the same exact mods, it would be worth it to me to save up a little more and get it. Thanks. |

You will get a lot of different opinions but at the end of the day get a tune Either or the main 3, JB4, COBB and PROcede will give you lots of GO and make the car a lot more fun.
