FYI guys, I took it to my installer and he freaked out when he saw I was taking my cats off and wouldn't install it..so make sure you are clear on that. I ended up installing it myself, it was very easy.

I guess the potential (unlikely) $10,000 fines from removing cats were worth more than my $100. It's ok, he saved me $$ and I had fun doing it.

Just for the record I was driving my car the other day and I noticed a fellow 335i driver follow me into the parking lot of a best buy, he heard the exhaust as I drove by and wanted to know what kind of exhaust it was because he wanted to get one. I happliy directed him to AE, 4 months of ownership and I still love mine

Just an update on this. Today I went back under the car to retighten all the fasteners (been a few hundred miles or so) and I adjusted the fitment on one flange interface (between the muffler and section 2, it was off slightly.) I made sure that all the fasteners were RFT*, including the ones at the DPs.

On the subsequent test drive, the droning was noticeably reduced in that 1800-2300 RPM range, and the amount of vibrations coming into the cabin were significantly reduced.

I may also check into new gaskets, as the ones I'm reusing were a little damaged around the mounting ears (on the outside, so it shouldn't have an impact on sealing properly.)

*RFT = Really F#@!$*g Tight!

Glad to hear it! Its imperative that the flanges all line up and the bolts are tight enough to ensure proper fitment.

Someone with Auto tranny chime in please...is there ANY drone? I'm ready to pull the trigger on this exhaust but my previous experience with Eisenmann Race(MAD Drone between 2000~2700rpm) keep holding me back from trying new exhaust on AT 335i. Even Eisenmann Race, highway crusie with DS mode @ 75~80mph (above 2700rpm) was perfectly fine with almost no drone. I'm asking between 2000~2700rpm range if there's any drone with AE Exhaust. I confirmed Bastuck has ZERO drone with MT or AT but since with AE I get more than just a muffler...hope someone chime in to confirm any drone issue with Auto tranny if there's any.

Our initial testing was done with a steptronic car (the dark blue car in the videos), and I didnt notice any drone... however, I'd like to have some step owners chime in to give you guys some real world reviews on it as well.

Nick is it possible to purchase only the catted pipes? I have a catless AE exhaust right now, might want to throw on some cats for inspection.

Yessir. We planned on that from the beginning but so far nobody has opted to switch. Lately, we've had an extreme amount of orders for HFC exhaust systems so we're gonna get on that now. I returned your PM too, btw.
