They are pre drilled and fitmetn is guaranteed. Although vendors on here guarantee that too and we know how that goes!

i have used the old system in the past and i didn't have much of a problem with it the cost difference would be like 2200 versus like 3700, both numbers could go down if anyone can give me a lead to good prices on center trim or a dash haha

that is what i am thinking Kevin, less headaches

i don;t have pdc or a camera which are two reasons to upgrade to the new unit

this old unit can hold me over until i buy a new car in a few years haha plus i don't have to worry about swapping my radio out with it when i go to the dealer for software upgrades

now which ipod interface to buy?

how much would it run me if i wanted to run a rear view camera on my 08 e92 coupe...i already have pdc and navi fyi

true but nick because of my build date i need to put my old radio back in before taking it to the dealer ... i can leave the iDrive dash/screen/etc but the software computer for BMW won't be able to update the car because to it there should be no way i have that new system in place

Probably not hard at all... talk to Alekshop (the vendor)... pretty sure he made something like this and is selling it...

ah DAMN... then yea i guess go the old route.. i thought i read somewhere that it wont matter if the dealer tries to upgrade but i dont remember where i saw that

well the dealer can apparently work on the car fine but like he can't do any work on the iDrive, at least with the old one they may look confused if they look at original documentation but the VO will show that it was there

really? with iDrive or without? I have been looking for new trim ... i even thought about getting something cheap and cf wrapping it ... i just think the wood looks good with the saddle and i don't know what else would
