dang, my boss is such a bitch. i usually have a chair around my rest/desk area but he doens't like me sitting at the back of the store. so now he removed that chair and i have to stand for 9 hours T_T

that's actually very common practice. usually 2 of us at the front desk and we used to have 2 chairs up there. then they took away our chairs and we only had a chair in the connected back room where we guests could not see. so we switch off sitting.

man... 9 hours? only had 8 hour shifts at my hotel.

think on the positive side. i'm sure front desk gets treated a LOT better than housekeeping.

^ oh i didn't mention. i'm not working at the hotel right now. (i use to for about 3 years almost) right now im working at this place where we fix and sell laptops. we get THREE customers a day if we are lucky. lol. so rest of the time now, imma stand there like an idiot.

ps. you are lucky if you even get a chair being a front desk. when i was working there, i had to stand for 8hrs. none of guest services, concierge, or front desk gets chair. only pbx and back office does.

Chair was definitely cool, but was cooler when we had chairs in the actual front desk area; call me lazy.

I worked at a small property, only 120 or so rooms. Thinking of the hotel reminds me of when my co-worker and I used to shoot craps with for quarters when we worked together... just to pass the time. We had to shoot in a desk drawer since there was a camera on us. When I was shooting it looked like my buddy and I were huddled up and I was wacking it in the drawer with my back against the camera.

3 customers a day and you don't get to sit down? That's pretty crappy. How's the place staying in business with 3 customers a day? Online orders?

^ haha wow, you would've already been fired if you done that at our hotel. I guess its cause we are a 4 diamond hotel with 400+ rooms thats why.

but honestly, idk how this place stays open. I think its just we are in the slow season. During December, we would sell around 3 laptops and fix 3 per day. and its a relatively small store with only 2 people working the whole day.
