Wait....the waist band is padded.....as not to bruise the pole? This raises so many questions that I'm not sure I have time for.

This was the solution, as I have a Chamberlain opener: https:https://www.walmart.com/ip/CHAMBERLA...38;athena=true

It works a treat-- I put it in the bedroom, and if the garage is open, you get a red light and an occasional "chirp". Push the button, and it closes and the light turns green.

Problem solved.

Additionally, the Chamberlain opener has an iPhone app that you can look at to see (and open/close) the garage door position.
I can't get my Chamberlain to work with homelink, think I might need the comparability bridge for it. The MyQ app is kind of useful though when it does work

I just assumed that his pole was attached at the hip....either that or his pant sag was hardcore.

Got tired of having warm beer in the garage and no room to keep it cool in the house fridge. Wife kinda claims all the space for stuff we never use it seems but is very important to have.

So nothing special. garage fridge for da beer.

Same, only w/o the freezer. Beer, iced tea, juice, iced coffee, my seltzer, and extra milk and half&half. Basically cold storage for liquids.

I've considered getting a fridge fire the garage.
But I feel like the electricity cost of it running nonstop during these sweltering Summer months here in TEXAS just isn't worth it.

I hear ya. Arizona here and gets toasty here too. But if I don't I'm keeping beer in that toasty garage. The sign on it says annual electric use of about $50. I am under no delusion that it will be anywhere near that.

We have one in FL and I don’t think it’s all that bad on electric. Our bills go up in direct proportion to temps, but I think 90+% of it is the a/c. We have a smaller fridge in the garage than inside with no ice maker or frills. But we did buy it new rather than putting an old one from the kitchen out there. At most, my guess would be an extra $5-$10/mo. in electric. Apparently, FPL says it’s only $11/year extra vs. running inside the house.

The 5 acres of wooded land that we bought in SC last week cost us way more than the three tanks of diesel fuel and two round-trip airline tickets that we spent traveling for the closing:
