A brass net?

Try using a mesh style net. You can find it at any hardware store or even a pond shop. You can secure the corners with a rock or something heavy.

Or..you can get a baby cayman alligator and throw him in. When the raccoon or stork comes by...they'll get a surprise.

I do like the tiger idea tho.
