I dont mean to put your product or company down but I have had a really bad experience w this product. Usually when a company recalls a product like say Toyota they stand behind the defect urgently to go out of the way to get the defect taken care of right away even if they have to stop production to take care of their customers. I got an email about the recall and have requested a shipping label over a week ago and still haven't received a response. Even after I get the package, get my hands bloodied up and send it, Ill prob have to wait another week to get it back. Im prob gonna get a repair kit from Mark and try to do it myself. So I continue to drive over the summer taking a chance of this product heating and causing damage to my headlight system. I would put in my stock bulbs but I sold them to a friend who needed them. On top of all this, you have come up with a solution of moving items outside into the engine bay which seems like a very poor solution. What makes u think that during a 100+ degree hot summer day when the engine bay will be at around 200-300+ degress depending on the length of time and the way u drive , that the power supply/fuse will be able to withstand these conditions in the future. Dont get me wrong, I love these angel-eyes and made my decision to buy them without hesitation because of all the review here and the fact that it was backed up my a reputable company. Its just disappointing that I spent so much time, money, on LUX and still don't have the clear solution or peace of mind to move past this issue.

Hey Marc,
I understand you are pretty busy regarding the recall and was wondering if new orders would be shipping out anytime soon? I may of missed the information but couldn't find it. Also, how does the change affect new units as opposed to the retrofit fix? Are you currently looking into a solution that puts the p/s back into the housing or is this not a likely scenario at this time? Thanks.

Yes, the test was done with the power supply inside the headlight to simulate all the possible heat sources. The test is to demonstrate that the inside of the headlight does not run hotter (or the engine bay doesn't run any cooler). The power supply or the heat sink don't really make inside of the headlight any hotter than outside (or in this test, it shows the outside is actually hotter). By the way, the power supply don't generate much heat. The thermocouple inside the headlight in the test was actually on top of the power supply. You can hold the power supply in your hand and it'll just be warm.

the new units will be almost exactly the same, they will just have longer wires so that the power supplies and fuses can stay outside the headlight. |

Will there be a solution with a p/s inside the headlight or is that possibility eliminated in the near future? My cause of concern is hiding it from the dealer visits.
Thanks for the prompt reply.

Received and installed. No cuts though, gloves ftw.
Took me awhile, 30 mins or so. Second set of AEs, I fail.
