HD is USB to the switch. Computers are USB to the switch. I believe the IP's are dynamic. Either way, never had this come up before, and I'm unsure of how unplugging and plugging the router back in would lose this connection

If it's dynamic, I'll look at the DCHP client on the router. Maybe you've exceeded the allocated ip address, maybe there was a power outage and the router lost the dhcp table. It's very unlikely but if the PC and router are both up and running, this is what I would look into first. Also can you ping the router? However, are you using a USB-Network adapter? Usually PC don't plug into the switch or router using USB.

The router isn't working...all the router was doing was taking the internet connection from the wall, and sending it to the switch and to the wireless access point. As soon as I isolated the router, the internet works again (from the wireless access point, I can't plug the internet wire into the switch so it's plugged to the access point). No power outages or anything, and everything regarding the HD and the computers accessing was fine this morning.
Also I got my wire type mixed up...none are USB...they are all the blue phone jack looking wires but for computer obviously... |
