This might be the wrong place for this question, but if I already have a car with a factory CIC (not a patched retrofit/upgrade), then is the map upgrade as simple as the instructions state; pull the 1b file, generate FSC, then upgrade the maps and enter the generated code when prompted by the CIC system? A friend is interested in this.


I just upgraded CCC->CIC on my car and had to use the patcher and FSTool to unlock/activate Navigation, then for the step to generate the FSC I selected the lifetime box. That got everything working great. Then I wanted to upgrade to the 2023 maps which was easy. Simply inserted the USB stick with the new maps and the system prompted to upgrade. It didn't prompt to enter a FSC, I'm guessing that's because the FSC I used to activate my newly upgraded CIC was a lifetime code.

NBT does not have a 1B File, it has a DE File.
