Unfortunately, the combination of 18" with run-flats has resulted in quite a few pothole explosions. One really hard hit bent one of the rims a little, although it seems to run true and holds air, but I decided that since this is my daily driver/dog hauler I need a less slam-bang ride. So I decided to go with 17" wheels with regular (non-run-flat) tires.

I looked at Apex ARC-8s but ultimately went BMW OEM refurbished Style 66s from the early 2000s 540. Those were staggered on the 540 - 17x8 front and 17x9 rear - but I want a square set so I ordered four 17x8s. Also have ordered some Michelin PS A/S 3s+ (225/45ZR17) and some hubrings to make it all fit.

Not a terribly exciting tire/wheel setup but I am hoping it will be a good compromise of ride/handling/aesthetics.

were these from the e39? pretty sure e39 has different center hub size...

This is my current "mix n match" taillight bulb setup:

Brake lights (x3): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H6VLWX2..._MyN5DbEB7ZCFK

Turn signals: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QWWZ6GJ..._oCN5Db4AEF1ZP

Reverse lights: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H54SP6O..._-CN5DbZ33GR18

Haven't had any problems with them so far. The brightness and color in all of them are quite nice.

Yes, so I will need concentric hub rings, which I have ordered. Wheels and rings should come this week. Tires are ordered and should also be in soon.

Do they set off codes? I think I am just going to do the 4 tail light bulbs since they run more often and are likely the cause of the melting.

I coded all my bulb checks out prior to installing them and haven't had any issues.

You'll need at least 4 bulbs for the brakes and 2 for the running lights

I would need 4 for the running lights wouldnt I? There is one running light bulb per housing.

That is a sweet garage!

Along the lines of LEDs.....my wife's GM SUV is a 2011 and has 27W DRL bulbs (3157?). They get hot and burn out (how often do you see a GM with one DRL?). Not only the bulb, but the socket needs replacement and turns brown. GM has a TSB telling techs to replace the bulb with a 31.xW bulb if the 27W one keeps burning out! Just think, the xenon headlamp only uses 35W, what a waste of energy....

Thank you. My wife has a '12 Tahoe and the passenger side DRL burned out so I replaced it. It was kind of a PIA and I didnt have garage access at the time so I only did that one. About 3 days later the drivers side burned out, so I figured, "I have the other bulb, might as well." I changed it. About a month later the passenger side burned out again, so I just removed both bulbs. Haha

I personally think they look great...especially on a white car. But I drive an E82 so they are a little different with the clear being at the bottom.

I like them and I don't think pictures do them justice. Now I just need to figure out how to get rid of the orange reflector in my headlights.

A vinyl overlay is good temporary solution for the headlights, otherwise there's a few good DIYs on how to take them apart

Well after a few frosty mornings I took my Continental Summer tyres off and fitted my Hankook Winters.

The car still looks the same as both sets are fitted to Style 158 wheels!

I'm researching that now actually.

I did it myself using Armorpoxy. Its a 20x22 garage with added 8x11 area and I think it was less than $1500.

EDIT: It was just under $900 actually. But this was a new pour, you would have grinding costs on an older slab.

Those wheels look great! Mind posting their sizing specs? Wondering about the fronts. They looks especially good.

These wheels look like Apex FL-5's. Gorgeous on a long roof (or any species), even if I'm wrong.
