It's not a "limit" it's just the mileage included in the price, of you're looking for lowest price then it will usually be with lowest miles of course.

You can do as many as you like, but pay excess, my E63 AMG is only 9p / mile extra. Which is only a fraction of the 80p / mile the main lease costs. If you ask often it doesn't cost much to upgrade the included miles. I've seen leases where it was £10/month more to go from 10k to 20k per year.

Any balloon type car finance will be based on a mileage "limit" to determine the future value.

Even if you "own" the car, then the more miles you do the less the car is worth when you sell it, so you pay a penalty then.

No different. More miles = more cost, however you pay.

£600 for 10k is peanuts, just the petrol at 30mpg would be £1900.

A common 6+23 lease / 10k pa / £450 month works out at 65p/mile if you the full 20000, so 6p extra is very little.

Leases / contract hire aren't set up for you to buy the car at the end.

There is no option to buy it, they just go back into the dealer network or to auction etc. You could try to negotiate as a private buyer, but why bother? Just get a new car on the next deal? Cheap leases won't translate into cheap used prices, it will just be a market priced used car same as any other.

Even on PCP / HP etc the "option to buy" at the end isn't an option to BUY, it's an option to SELL as you own the car anyway from day 1, allbeit on a secured finance package. You OWE the final payment, unless you sell them the car back to cover the final payment via the (low) GMFV.

Actually M5's are back on a leases campaign from 1st April.

Cheapest they've been for nearly 2 years. (they were £450+VAT in 2013 though)

£525+VAT on 6 + 35 (EWFS, they're a BM dealership in Glasgow)

Hopefully they'll drop again in July, then I'll order one to replace the E63.....

i know a woman who is in her 30's who does this to her brand new Audi she gets from the dealership...she puts around 30k a year on and gets it put back to around 6k miles.

I dont understand why its silly to bring up, please elaborate. Like everything you buy you evaluate the pros and cons and ways you can be screwed over. Eg. if you buy a macbook from gumtree you might see its priced very well but it might be out of warranty and then you will ask the question, is this laptop stolen, is it worth the risk?

I should have been more clear im not the person that will lease the car i am the person that might buy an ex lease car. My current car, a lease company was the first owner and i am the second. Before looking at lease deals i wasnt aware of mileage limitations and so i thought maybe my car could have been clocked whilst it was being leased, hence why i asked the question in this thread to find out more. What would be interesting to know is tell tail signs of an e90 being clocked, if i find proof i can surely take it back to BMW and demand my money back even if i did buy it 2.5 years ago

Still waiting on mine... went stage 7 of 7 like a week ago. Sent all the paper work last Friday...

I'll do about 4k over I think. @ 7.2p per mile thats still 'only' £288

I know they arent setup for this process, its just we have been offered what seems a fairly reasonable price to purchase our current lease car ie £2k cheaper than that cheapest identical car I can find on autotrader.

Whilst I didnt plan to buy at the end of this lease, making a purchase and reducing our monthly outgoings for the next 12months is appealing.

If the price is right, then go for it if it suits. At least you know the history of the car which is a plus side.

Depends on the vehicle and what other next lease deals are around of course, with the E63 I have it would be more expensive / difficult to finance buying a 2yo £45K car one with a 4K deposit than it would be to lease another brand new one with 4K deposit.

That's the point of these current bargain lease deals, to make you buy a new one rather then a used one.

Initially asked for just scans of both parts driving license.
Then also asked for:
Scan of passport, scan of 2x utlilty bill sent via post, photo of credit card signature strip. (To compare signature to documentation and driving license)

Not had to send anything off in the post though.
