unless someone has a crystal ball we can use to look into the future, than yes

flexibility is very important thus the easy map update option. In our current configuration we have diagnostic invisibility, but you
never know what BMW will throw at us next. Maybe an EMP pulse to disable all microcontrollers...

But we've made accommodations in the design to allow for these changes and easy map/firmware updates. I think if anything BMS has proven
itself to be very agile in dealing with these things.

Hope that's not like Axl Rose waiting to release his new CD until he gets it perfect.

I'll try to sneak on to a private road this weekend to measure 0-60 times with and without this feature on stock run flats, running our current 91 octane map (~13psi peak).

that is the harness, there is a photo of the jb3 case in the first post in this thread, you can see how they plug together.

Even if it was the small piece why does it matter? This reminds me of the giant circuit board on the front of the Back to the Future car. Was the big one better than the tiny microchip it replaced? I had a black box ecu before and opened it. Guess what? The box was huge and the guts were tiny! In this case, size doesn't matter.

NEW PHOTO:

Installed JB3: Note how clean and OEM the install looks, the final version will use matched harness tape. Install takes around 5 minutes once in the ECU and connectors are color coded for ease of install. Black on the left, red on the right. The JB3 itself tucks in the ECU shelf.

I have some more tuning to do on our v81 (which also arrived while I was gone!), and we'll be expanding to local beta testing in a week or two. Local testers have already been selected and notified and I will be contacting you again shortly. If you didn't make it in the beta group I'm sorry to exclude you but we only needed so many testers... hopefully the rest will become early adopters?
