So I put a BRR tune on my 335D that i just bought and I've been absolutely loving it. Being that I just bought the car I'm still in the process of getting the maintenance on my car up to date. I've got 140,000 miles so it's got the typical fuel rail pressure code that will probably be an injector and it looks like a boost leak.
I still figured I'm just gonna send it and went to the local 1/8 mile drag races to see how it'll do as I've been loving the car and how fun it is. Being that I'm on bald run flat tires I filled up the diesel tank all the way full hoping it would assist with my traction problem. After the sun went down the little bit of traction I had totally disappeared as there was a lot of moisture in the air I have only drag raced once and that was about 10 years ago in my 1970 baja bug with a 1600cc engine but I've attached my time slip from my first pass while it was still hot out in Southern California. I know this car and this tune has more potential for sure once I get a few of my issues sorted and I'm excited to get it all fixed up and get some tires on it to really see what it can do. Dont make fun of my RT I was nervous as hell lol. Also I just checked and the DA was at 3904 feet when I ran at about 6pm on august 16th at Barona 1/8 mile drags in California. That is awesome! This will be my setup here soon except I will have the swirl flap deletes as well and a full racepipe for the egr delete. I'm hoping to make the car run high 11's with water/meth and some good tires!

I don't know how Ryan does it. I switched over from another mainstream tuner and it's completely changed the way my x5d drives. The power comes on instantly unlike with the other tune where it would feel like it's slowly building up power over the the rpm range. I've been running xdelete since the beginning of summer and now I'm considering going back to xdrive as the rears (315) keep breaking loose. Even when changing lanes I find myself not even switching into S on the trans to get that extra passing power. I'll share more as I put more KMs on

nope. I was running it in sport mode which kept the front differential active but hardly any load on it. you can check out their website on the different options they offer. fuel milage didn't change much as I have a heavy right foot

Sweet, already downloaded the app! I'll be trying it out very soon. Mine is stock for now so I'm not aggressive like I am in my deleted 335d so it should be a nice addition for the situations where awd isn't needed for a bump in fuel mileage. Anyways, enjoy that BRR tuned 35d

I know a few that are already tuned are secretly wondering just how good this tune is compared to their current tune. Maybe a try and buy program would get some more people to switch? I have no complaints with the current tune, but if the difference is that drastic there are probably a few that won't mind tossing their $1K+ tunes for sleeper's. I'd be glad to compare and even have access to a dyno, but it would be hard for me to justify spending more money based on hearsay....just a thought

And all that with a valve cover gasket leaking boost and fuel rail pressure that was 3000 psi low. This tune is a beast. |

Just got back from a 900km+ trip in the mountains to a small town in BC (Osoyoos) and I really noticed a difference between the old JR 2.8 tune and now the BRR tune in the mountains. When I went on another trip last month the x5 was okay in the mountains with JR's tune. I would have to press the accelerator a lot harder and longer to get the power to build up. Now with the BRR tune even when I'm in 6th gear going up the mountains the x5 moves effortlessly. Even when going 140kph the x5 pulled like a beast. As soon as I want passing power or to gun it for fun in the boonies the power is instant and it moves the x5 without missing a beat. With JR it would feel like it's trying it's hardest to produce power but it was never there
When in town the difference is the same. The power is instant without the lagging feeling I would experience with the JR tune. It's hard to imagine how swapping tunes can change the drivability of the X5d just like that. ![]() ![]()
