Wow, great information and unbelievable effort. Thanks for your time, anjuna.
This like drinking from a firehose but I'll live. Got some reading to do. Btw, I don't suppose anyone knows where to find a relatively recent 98G0B xdf? In particular, I'm looking for the new VCV tables. Any help is much appreciated! -Bryan

I noticed that the s55 xdf used a different interpretation for the y-axis on the exhaust tables. yes, the bin has 00 01 02 03 04 06 07 08 09 for it, but who ever defined it for the S55 xdf, used R N 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 for the Y-axis. BUT... the tables you mapped to have different values than what I had found and the non-sport exhaust tables end at the 7th row for my bin, which makes me think your y-axis is correct (I'm DCT). |

Hi this thread just made me register to this forum. I would love to help testing. my ECU is 98G0B. Probably I can also help with some translation if you need. I'm German that might come in handy here. Keep the good work going.
Is there somewhere a working link? The links from the first post seem to be dead and the GitHub doesn't seem to have anything related to 98G0B. Last edited by Falko123; 05-14-2020 at 08:41 AM.. |

I am amazed. Lots of reading to do
![]() And my neighbors should say thank you to you Anon. Finally I have control over my exhaust flaps. Only one question though did you discover how to have it closed in idle? I set the Vmin to 0 and it will close immediately when I take off. But Idle still open, I would prefer it closed. I have an aftermarket exhaust with catless downpipe. Basically with the valves open it's straight pipe. |

I put both on 0 on cold start it closed the flap right after the timer, or building up enough vacuum to operate the two actuators. made sense.
when warm there seems to be another logic. first I Had the 17.5 km/h so it started to work after that. Changed to 0 and now it closes when it sees 1km/h from the speed sensor. But will open at 0. |

I just checked. My valve is definitely closed at idle with those settings. Last edited by Anon1; 05-23-2020 at 04:18 PM.. |

just for others code word 04 did what I wanted it to do.
new question coming up. I am testing to have different power levels in normal and sports mode. the idea of the game is to have my two exhaust valves closed in normal most of the time only high rpm I open them to help flow. in sports mode I have them open after 1500 rpm to get out everything the engine/turbo has to offer. my approach so far is too set the load ceiling and the torque request ceiling high enough for what I want it to do. than I use the modeled torque tables. table 1 I set to 400 Nm And table 2 to 620 Nm. but in sport mode it won't request high load now. if I go higher in modeled torque 1 it will do as requested. is there a table that's limiting the difference between the 2 tables? |

EDIT - I should expand on this and say I understand the concept of flow versus velocity (similar to the multi stage intake manifolds) But at this point in your exhaust the exhaust gases already traveled through the turbo charger and Matt resistance. Any resistance that can be eliminated after the turbo charger is only going to be helpful I'm never going to be detrimental |

When the valves are closed everything goes through the mufflers and the car is more quiet than OEM exhaust catless, but feels also lazier. I think when I go through the mufflers I do have a lot more back pressure, but open is different story. This affects spool and what the turbo/engine can do without knocking. Will do some more logs to see what it does. But any Idea why it would not let me ask for 400Nm in Normal and 620 Nm in Sport? |

A2L to SQLite3
For those in this thread that might find it useful (or anyone else) I have managed to convert the 7982790B to an SQLite3 Database

just saw this thread, been converting the xdf over to winols, because it's so much faster to make changes and easier to identify maps in 3d mode. plus im used to it! once I do that i will be putting more time into this. I have most experience with Bosch med9 2.0t remapping. I see there's maps that in the Bosch ecu's
require changing to mitigate how much DTC interferes and just overall requested tq. I'll report more once I get some data to share |
