If you guys never thought that Hyundai makes some of the most capable cars on the road, the 10 minutes you spend watching this video below will change your mind completely. The music rocks, too!

It's a Hyundai with Brembo brakes, active-headrests, and a Lexicon audio system (Rolls Royce). Great stuff for ANY car.

Anyways, here's a pretty nice looking one.

Wouldn't take it for free?

Looks better than I thought, but does anyone else see a resemblance from that badge and Bentley's badge? From the far away shots, I'd think it was a Bentley badge.

I bought the Genesis on the spot right after test driving it. I would have never considered a Hyundai before the Genesis. So far I am very happy with the car. I have about 1,500 miles on it. The ride is very smooth, quiet, and balanced. I will say it's between a Lexus (soft) and BMW (handling); genesis is more on the luxury side.

I just bought a 3 series less than a month ago also because of the .9% interest. But you can't beat the Genesis deal. I knew about Hyundai quality and reliability from Consumer Report and JD Powers. I also have a fully loaded 2007 Porsche Cayman S (could have bought the 911 for just a little more, but wanted a mid engine performance).

I have one complaint though – it’s the Hyundai dealer network. At one point during negotiations, they were actually arguing with me??? Customer experience is not in par with other luxury brands.

I am keeping my eye on this one that's coming out Feb 2009:
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/au...ies_rival.html

Hyundai VI -- Coming in February '09.
Code-named VI, the new sedan is a companion model to the Genesis.
When the VI goes on sale, it will be available with 5.0L Tau engine, producing between 400 and 420 horsepower.

The car is described as being a showcase for Hyundai's most advanced technologies.
The VI will include among its sophisticated safety features a second–generation Vehicle Stability Management System (VSM2), a Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) which employs a vision sensor to monitor traffic lane markers and a Pre–Safety Seatbelt System which on detecting an imminent front–end collision, will automatically reel–in the safety belts to maximize the safety of the occupants. It will also feature engines which can shut down cylinders under light throttle loads for better efficiency

For those who travel only in first class, a flagship long-wheelbase limousine is also in the pipeline.

A HYUNDAI LIMOUSINE !!!
Maybe good bang for the buck, but you're not saying the Genesis handles as good as your 3, 5, or Cayman S, are you?

Yeah from far away you could mistaken it for a Bentley badge but I think there's enough originality in it and Hyundai went their own direction.

Not to mention the spread-winged symbol is very popular and traces of it go back as far as 5300 B.C. in Ancient Sumer.

And yeah Gonzo, I do think the wheels and exhaust are aftermarket. The brakes might be stock.

don't be so insecure. Hyundai isn't taking over Munich quite yet.

Arguments comparing a brand new car to one at the end of its life cycle shouldn't ruffle anyone's feathers.

I spent a couple of years at a Hyundai dealer a while back. Unless things have changed for the better i'm not interested. The worst resale value in the industry. And quality problems (from bits falling off to it won't start) in the first year. I'm sure some people will have a good experience with the car but this nameplate had a long way to go.

As I told my pop I would not buy one but the guy/girl who does watch every penny and buys for value, warranty and features, I think it will sell. Hyundai has improved their quality considerably over the years for whatever that's worth.
This car just proves how bad then americal cars really are. How could you ever buy a lincoln product over this?

HAHAHAHA omg... ok ok... I think the Genesis looks fabulous. It's just a shame that it's clearly copied from other high-luxury brands... if only Hyundai had come up with something like that by themselves, I would have been a die-hard fan...

I got a chance to drive it, and it feels SOLID. Sure, I didn't take it on twisty roads to test it's handling, and I didn't take it to triple digit speeds on the freeway. But I seriously think this is a serious, serious contender to it's german rivals. You can't compete with it being ~33% cheaper.

Personally, I don't care what brand the car is. I purchased my BMW because I liked it's features, and the engine was phenominal.

The interior is definately not what you're accustomed to seeing in Hyundais. The quality looks superb overall, although there are a few things inside that make you think "why couldn't they just spend $100 more and change that to make it better"

The drive was VERY smooth, and I almost think it's got the comfort of a Lexus, and the driving passion of a BMW. Like others are saying, it's VERY obvious that they took the best of all the cars out in the market.

The exterior is just mind-blowing. It looks solid, it's agile, and while it doesn't have that unique look German cars have when they first come out, it CERTAINLY does the job for me.

I've driven everything from a Honda Accord all the way to a 55 AMG. Nothing beats this car's worth for money. If I were in the market for this sort of car, I wouldn't cross this Hyundai out of my list... it would ceratinly be my top 3
well said.

Value is insane... 10-year warranty and this car starts at $32k for the V6 (CHEAPER THAN OUR CARS) and $37k for the V8 (STILL CHEAPER THAN OUR CARS!!)

actually, there is NO BMW in that range... haha

OK, I just built my own on usa.hyundai-motor.com and the 4.6L V8 fully loaded (there is only one package) comes out to MSRP $42k (including freight charge)... thats how much my car costed before tax!! =P

All this being said, of course I'd rather have my car... I'm not THAT old yet ;-)

As I've said before, Hyundai has come a long way.
I don't expect the badge whores/snobs to look beyond the H to see a capable automobile, but I've driven one and it's fantastic (by any standards).
