Hi Mike,

Yes it was me running at Santa Pod yesterday.

I hadn't really planned on going as I was at birthday bash on Saturday night and didn't get in til 2.30am . However, on Sunday morning despite feeling like sh*t I decided to drive down to the Pod just to have a few runs. I knew some of you guys were there but was feeling a little sorry for myself so couldn't be arsed to track you all down

I was a bit disappointed with my times as I expected to hit 13.0, and I put this down to the lowering springs which as I've mentioned before seem to be making the car squirm a little from a standing start, definitely different from before and makes the car harder to launch consistently, squirm = excess slip = autobox changes gear prematurely. I will be keeping them on though as the car sits much better on them.

D mode on the strip was definitely worse than running manual DS, this is different to my experiences on concrete strips (Fighting Torque etc.), the best set-up appeared to be as Carlos had run recently in DS. Didn't have a chance to try all the running set-ups I wanted to as I ran out of time (only there for a few hours) and it was very hot so times may have been distorted.

Most of my runs were in the 13.2-13.3, with the odd 13.4/5 where I tried different set-ups.

Best time was:
13.2063 @ 106.48mph

Got to run a couple of times against one of the V8 M3's (slower one of the two with manual box)and beat him both times, he ran a 13.7 and 13.5 against me, I think he was a bit disappointed with his times especially as the other white V8 M3 was running 12.9-13.0 but was the dual clutch version. He says that he posts on here from time to time but can't remember his log-in name, pleasent young chap though.

Managed to catch up with Sal and Imran from Evolve just before I left and it was good to hear that all of the Evolve cars were running very good times indeed

Some nice cars there and the event was certainly not as "chavtastic" as some had made out.

Highlight of the day for me was seeing a friends LS powered Cerb running mid 11s, but I would say that as my previous car was a Cerb that ran 11.7-11.9 1/4s.

Marlie, did you run your 335i??

Jules.

Where have I derided another member? Read the rest of that thread and tell me.

If anything it is you and Carlos who have doubted me with the following (some inference):

I only ran once at Santa Pod
I only ran one time in the 13.2's
I had a special map put on
I run a car with lots of development work
I wasn't at the Pod
I didn't run 10 times in the 13.3's
I didn't run 4 times in the 13.2's

Carlos's gripe seems to be my quote about "taking tuning onto another level" and I have explained that this was part joke and partly because I believe that more cars now get maps with closer to quoted figures, if you and any others don't agree then that is fine, it's just my opinion.

If anyone goes back to the pod and runs 13.2 or below then bloody fantastic I will be chuffed to bits for them, will I believe them then yes, why not? I don't care that much about othe people's cars and their figures / times, I am more interested in my own. When Carlos did the Redline shootout I was proud of the figures his car posted and commented to that effect, I didn't start saying that it should've have got faster figures etc.

I am really not bothered if I have lost your respect (who are you ), I've repeatedly answered your questions and in most cases corrected you, but you seem oblivious to this and I have all but given you all of my figures for Santa Pod, but the pity is you'll not see what you want to see....more fool me eh

Jules.
Looks like you aren't getting the point mate.

You have come on here doing a bit of willy waving. Saying your car ran at times that you can't prove, is not a good move. IMHO

As far as I see it, you have probably been given a very good price (cough) for doing the PR rounds with your map.

Start stating some truth and people may take more notice. (well me at least)

Lets face it.

All the good 335d maps give around 290hp. They are at the same level now as they were at the start of the year.

All well mapped 335ds should do around 13.2- 13.4 at Santa Pod

Different rolling roads will give different results. Your Disney Dynamics Butt dyno is hardly a good barometer for accurate performance statistics.

Show me the 4 slips, or at least the 13.2063 @ 106.48 mph slip and I will shut up

Well you'll just have to keep SHOUTING a bit louder because you won't be seeing anything.

I certainly didn't do any willy waving - someone else asked if I had been FFS, I didn't even start the thread and wouldn't have started a thread.

You've seen various rolling road graphs some of which aren't of my car and you still dispute the figures?? Shows what an uneducated and ignorant individual you are, here is another thread done at an independant Rolling Road attended by some members on here, I you'll be glad to hear wasn't there. NOW take your time and read it carefully.........you claim that ALL remapped 335D's make around 290bhp at the wheels, these were the HIGHEST figures seen to date, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me where the 290bhp 335d is?? You'll see they are 272, 274, 285 and 285, previous to thi the best seen was 269, prior to that lower....HENCE MY COMMENT, which is obviously my opinion.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=135516

If you want to disagree then absolutely fine, you can believe what you like that is your perogative, I will not be forced into something because one individual insists I should, I'm p*ssed off that I have posted as much info as I have just to justify that I was even there and ran my car!! But as stated you won't be getting anymore, your respect (like I said, who are you ) means absolutely nothing to me. I think I posted a 13.27 earlier on in this thread you are quite welcome to use that as what my car did on the tell and you can share this with whoever you want if it really makes you happy.

Enjoy your 290bhp EMapped 335d.....cam you prove it has 290bhp at the wheels, can you prove it can do 13.2-13.4 at the pod.......I bet you can't prove either, COME ON SHOW ME YOUR GRAPHS, back up what you say you have, how do you know you haven't got 250-270bhp??? So until you have some kind of facts to back up what you claim then don't try and pick fault with me.

Jules.

I actually found Judes review of the evolve very useful when I was desperately trying to find info on which map to choose, I don't know Jude personally but my internet impression has been of a helpful individual, I doubt he has offered free PR but to be fair if he feels he recieved excellent service and a good product why not write a review

I have done a similar thing on other forums with both Superchips and GIAC, basically if I recieve excellent service and I think my review may help other forum users I think its 'best practice' to do this time and time again, Jules and any other member that posts useful info should be thanked not criticised.

My lasting impression of the guys from Evolve was that they seemed keen to offer a high level of customer service, my only criticism would be I would like to know more about where the maps originate, I understand they are to a degree protecting their source but this in itself can arouse some negativety.

Regarding the other stuff about standing quarters etc I'm not experienced enough to have an opinion so that part of the thread I'll leave well alone

I do feel sorry for the Guy who started the thread though as it has gone off a little

Agreed- the thread is just ending up to be somewhat irrelevant in terms of answering the OP's question.

If it isn't going to head in any useful direction from now, then it's closing.

A straight answer to the straight question that was originally asked, is that a re mapped 335d will put out around 285-290hp. The figure can vary from dyno to dyno, but most maps will give this figure.

DMS, E maps, and Evolve maps will all give these results.

Search the web for feedback on any of the above, and make your decision as to who to use. It's a brilliant upgrade, and one that you won't regret.

Hi all well tuned 335d and others. My 535d puts out 376 hk/735 nm on the flywheel, about 315 hk on the wheels. Measured on a Vtech dyno. Will run on a Dastek 3 weeks from now to compare. 0-62 in 5,5s, 0-200 km/h about 17,5s (measured 0 - 205 on the tacho to adjust for error compared to GPS). Link to video, really crappy quality, I know...
