I do. Maybe a few others. If this bad boy sells for $300, what is the margin? Kinda like the Dinan Oil Cooler.....would you like to bring up those threads again? Anyway, I won't be harsh here....because even at $300, it will recover the R&D and give the guy some pocket change (or more).

First of all, the "cutting edge PIC18F" in the OP made me LOL. That chip has been out since 2002. To be honest, it doesn't really matter what chip they use, so long as it has 8 GPIO's. PIC's have proven to be a very good choice in a wide variety of applications (including military).
Quote:
(prices estimated from digikey for qty 1) PIC18F (DIP-18 package): $5.13 Some little cap: likely $0.10 or less Wires: $0.01 or less, in bulk PCB: $0.50 or less, in bulk Hardware (connectors and enclosures): $15 or less, in bulk So we're talking like $26 or less in parts. That being said, what we will be paying for is the R&D time. I'd imagine a lot of code writing, testing, debugging, and effed up engines go into development. If I could pay like $100 for the compiled hex, I would jump on this immediately... maybe even do some freelance R&D for the favor ![]() Man, I would kill for some source code! Maybe a couple of snippets for your e90post brethren??? That ALL being said, I will probably still pick this up when it comes out ![]() p.s. sorry for the technical jargon, electrical engineer here. |

Testing continuos. There are several JB+ in users hands and development is progressing very well. I see no reason not to expect it at its promised timeline of late Feb/early March

I just hate it when some money grabbin' pig tries to make a living off the humble BMW owner. Doesn't he know how many of us still have to pay off our university educations, ex-wives, and coke dealers? Isn't there some way to gouge the Phillipino nannies and Subway/7-11 workers?
Seriously, couldn't give a shiznik what it costs to manufacture. If it's sale price represents better value than it's competition it will sell. If you think that they should be making BMW tunes at some sort of discount price for the good of the masses instead of living off the sweat off the back of the oppressed worker, well, you are living in the wrong country, driving the wrong brand of automobile, and communicating via the wrong device using the wrong network owned by the wrong corporation. You really should pack up your homemade granola, throw on your best woolie's and Birkenstocks, pack your Yurt into the back of your VW microbus, crank the Joplin and head off to the commune. |

![]() Here is the reality, if it does what it says, people will buy it - I won't because I'm happy with my stock car ![]() Good Luck to the JB developers!

How is it adjustable since the design looks exactly the same as the SSTT?
And how is the performance compared to other tunes that are on the same level? i.e. AA processor/SSTT? |
