I should had reread your install a little closer. You can actually do the installation without removing the brace or put the brace back in place once you're done with the CAI install. Just be ready to scratch the shit out of the CAI..

man, this thing was a pain to install with stock DVs. Getting the wheel liner back on was a mission too. I need to get a heat gun to mold the wheel liner so that the bulge that is there now won't rub the tire. At the moment, the faux vent won't stay in and I rub over speed bumps.
Not thoroughly impressed. |

you install with stock DVs? I would love too make this thing work, not many ways to screw the install up though. I'm having the same issue as ths guy:

I got it to work, I readjusted the pipe with the wheel liner installed. Thanks for calling my install out, I was in finger pointing mode.

sorry i'm late to this thread...but generally if the filter isn't fitting down in the bumper...then in most cases the pipes need to be repositioned. it is definitely a tight fit though...because the filter is soo large.

Having the filters out in te open like that, would it cause the car to run at a slightly higher temp??
I did a 40 mile drive on the fwy today and noticed my temp gauge one "tick" higher than I am used to...????

You might want to look at the data before making uninformed statements.

Sure, your intercooler can cool hot air pretty good, but it's a lot more efficient for power when your turbo's have to spin less and generate less heat to make the same boost. In turn you will make the same power with less WGDC, means less heat generated and in turn your intercooler can get those temps even lower. Intercoolers are a great option and arguably the better upgrade but in the quest for more efficiency a true cold air intake does have benefits. |
