Here is a horrible iPhone picture. Only 3 gripes that I have: the hood is too light and requires a little slam to make it shut. The license plate lights took me 20 minutes to snap in because I didn't know what I was supposed to do. It requires a screwdriver in the back to snap it in correctly. The license plate mount holes are a little too small and require a little razor work to make it fit and the holes aren't pre-drilled for the carpet cover on the bottom, however they are on the top.

Personally, these 'gripes' can really go either way. The fact that the hood is too light to close itself is really a plus, considering the purpose of a CF hood to begin with. I might add that there is QUITE a considerable difference in weight between the stock E90 trunk and this CF one, something I wasn't too sure about originally. I can handily pack this Amuse trunk with just one finger, yet when I slam the thing shut there is NO flex and it feels really sound and strong. This isn't like a wheel of fortune, put all your weight into getting $1.00 slam either.

The problem with the license plate lights was only really a problem because I couldn't figure out why they weren't snapping in. There is a metal clip that flexes and once you push the light in far enough, it pops out and holds it in place. But because CF is thicker than the stock hood by a very small margin, it doesn't quite want to pop out. Just get back there with a screw driver and pop it out yourself and its good to go.

The license plate mounts are a bit too small, but its better than being too big. Only took about 5 minutes with a razor and I reshaped them into proper squares and the female studs popped right in. As for the inner carpet cover holes not being drilled on the bottom, its only 4 holes because the top 4 are drilled out which and it will only take 3 minutes to drill the holes at most. Not even an issue unless you don't happen to have a drill. Just put put the carpet cover on with the top four, then hold the bottom up to the trunk and put your drill right up to the holes in the carpet and drill away.

So to summarize:

There will be about 5 minutes worth of 'extra' work involved in drilling/sizing the new holes. Other than that, everything else is exactly the same as installing an OEM trunk, however it will be easier because its so light.

Most importantly, the trunk lines up perfectly. All the lines are spot on and no rubbing or even coming close on any of the edges. The tail lights bolted in just like oem and it was really a breeze.

Yep, more photos to come. when I get more 'finish' on the car and less, 'building' is happening.
