i got mine last year 1 week after docking 7 days

My CA just called me back. He's hopeful it'll arrive at the dealership on Friday, pickup on Saturday morning. He said once they hit port they're usually delivered within the week. They'll have a better idea in a day or two.

I dont wanna bother him. I like to be surpised when I get the phone call "your car is ready" Last year i got a call at 4pm on a friday afternoon and went saturday morning.

the surprise thing I get...wish I had that kind of self control... of course if this was my second bimmer in 2 yrs I might not be so crazy right now.

and 4th bmw since 2002. Had to wait for every single one like i am now. I always special ordered with the exact options i wanted. You get used to the waiting after the 2nd one. lol

I live in lower NY which is much closer to the VPC so if all goes well, I'm hoping to take delivery on Friday.

Anyone hear about how VPC's are going in NJ? I'm waiting for a call back from my CA. If we get held up in VPC I'm going to have to be medicated.

I'm just gonna go along with what I have. I don't have the patience to wait for another 2 months and also need the car asap to get to work which is another whole complicated situation. Hopefully not having the sports seats isn't as bad as how people are making it out to be. But I'm still upset at BMW for having wrong information on their website. Funny how the mind works; if the information about the sports package for the xi was correct (that performance tires are included), I wouldn't have cared about not getting the sports seats.

Apparently there is a thread about how all new 3 series are getting software updates and there are 3,500 cars needing them. I hope the numbers are way off and that our cars already have the update when it was built last month.

I emailed my CA asking him when I might get my car and he said, "should be here in the next few days...I'll call you when the truck pulls in." so either he doesn't know anything about this update or the problems with the dot or he is just assuming from prior experience/average time.

talked to someone at the 800 number, once the car reaches the port of EXIT, they have no more info. only dealer has the info at that point.
