The new map is great as far as I could tell on a small drive last night. The car starts up right away. I haven't got a chance to try out the cruise control. I'm heading down to LA this weekend for bimmerfest. I will write a very detailed review of the PWM meth kit when I get back. I want to have the car for a full weekend with lots of driving before I give it a review.
Again all I honestly have to say right now is wow. I drove the car last night at 9pm and it's now almost 2pm the next day and I still have not stopped smiling. Woke up smiling because all I could dream about was the car hahaha |

Hellblazer you should stop by the BRracing booth at fest, I'll be over there and my car will be on display, you should really lead me over to your car because I would love to see the way this is installed reguarding room issues with other charge pipes and intakes!

Hand the customer some install instructions, sit back and watch to see what happens. I'd say that would be nice to get detailed instructions that have been customer tested.

zsapphire7, can't wait to see your results. My car is next on the beta install list, done on Sunday. Taking a long road-trip next week, then to Thunderhill in early June.
Buttonwillow is supposed to reach a high of 86-deg F tomorrow. Will be looking forward to how the kit performs.

A letter to Shiv...
The work you do is amazing and I think you've done more to progress this platform than almost anyone. Thank you for all of your hard work and the amazing results we've all experienced. Your service is amazing. No, you can't diagnose everyones problems from hundreds or thousands of miles a away from their physical vehicle, but you try and you've helped many. For all this, thank you! One of the most frustrating things in this world is failed expectations. The old adage, under promise, over deliver is truly one of the greatest business montras you can have. I highly recommend you reevaluate your practice of teasers and overly aggressive time estimates. I think you'll find customers far more impressed if you say "in three weeks" and it comes in two weeks, than if you say "in one week" and it comes in two weeks. It would save us a lot of time not having to read, page after page, of teaser threads. Sincerely, jdemetry

p.s. The business practice of rolling out multiple new products while your existing customers are largely running partial functionality (no auto tune, no timing-retard based traction control, no NA map, etc) beta maps seems to be a little off base to me.
These aren't meant to be insults, but constructive feedback from an existing customer. I believe many out there probably feel the same.

As forum participants we are somewhat unfair in that we measure progress in terms of hours or days! What normal business runs like that? Unfortunately, I think the competitive nature of this market forces companies to "tease" to let people know that are working on something - even if it isn't ready to roll. They seem to have brought on a few new people at Vishnu which will hopefully let the development guys spend more time doing what they do best. |

+ 1. I'm not saying this to criticize but rather to point out that I have run older maps just for the fun of it and they function really well.
But Shiv has already addressed this. They are writing new logic for the autotune and traction control to work with DIC and the new meth maps. So until they get the meth stuff all wrapped up and are happy with it then they can't finish the software side... |

The "stable" firmware is hardly stable for many 6AT owners. Some have no choice but to run beta firmware. Just some food for thought.
