Well after all this talk about people liking the old maps, I decided I'd give them a try again (each one for a few days to let them and my car adjust). Tried the 12-17 and 1-21 but I'm now back on the 5-10 maps and happy to be back.

I drive a 6MT and although the 12-17 and 1-21 maps give you a bit more kick in the pants at lower throttle positions, I just feel the throttle transitions on the recent DIC maps are WAY smoother on my car. I can really notice how much more refined the timing is during throttle transitions. Shifting is smoother and I feel that the power comes on immediately after the shift and butter smooth. No slight delay or jerkiness when getting back on the throttle during fast shifting (or slow shifting for that matter). Throttle transitions is where DIC really shines and one of the main reasons for its existence.

Hopefully the newer DIC maps will give us the ability to dial in how much kick we want at lower throttle positions while still maintaining the butter smooth transitions. I may just want a bit more kick than the 5-10 maps, but not too much. I would really like it if we could configure that amount individually for each map selection. Then I could set up Map 1 for smooth linear throttle and Map 2 for a more aggressive throttle. I would love that!

Just my $.02.

Really hope the next maps include autotunning and a mixture of the 5/10 and 12/17

Its your power saving settings. Make sure its set to 100% all the time. I have seen these USB issues and they were due toi server management settings. They were un-related to PRPOCede, on a machine at work.

No one really arguing with the smoothness of the 5-10, they are phenomenal, the problem and why I went back to 12-17 is the misfires and limp mode on WOT.

1-21 Autotuned Beta was probably my favorite maps. So far Im running the 5-10 DIC maps, went to the track last night bad traction went 12.80's at 110 but bogging shifting into 4th gear which hurt the mph considerably and it was about 85 degrees.

Like 2.10 60's, gotta get some slicks.

That is so strange. Before I gave up, every firmware/map I tried misfired except 3-30 DIC. I had the opposite problem you did.

Yup, I didn't have any of these symptoms with any other maps other than the 5-10 maps. I was thrilled they were so smooth, but every time I went WOT it would just go into crazy misfire and then bog and limp. I thought it was just my car before I realized there was quite a few folks with same issues.

Won't the boost onset % user setting help with getting more initial "kick"?

1-21 wasn't autotuned... At least not if the readme was right

Went to 3-30 and couldn't stand the extended crank so I moved to 12-17 which feels awesome down low but seems to taper a good amount up top.

I have found the 2-7 map with the 2-14 firmware does it for me.

How can one get the 6-14 maps and firmware?

There are two parameters that affect boost onset. Boost Response which is 100% by default and can't be raised any higher, and Boost Control Gain which you can set to an initial value, but will auto tune to a value that is specific to your car. The Boost Control Gain usually auto tunes to around 50% on my car and I have set the initial value to 50%. I could set the initial value higher, but that would just cause boost overshoot and some boost oscillation until the procede auto tunes it back to the appropriate value (~50%) for my cars waistgate stiffness.

hopefully shivs silence indicates that he is working away on a better auto tune enabled DIC map that address all of our wants.

Observations:
1. I have no issues with either map. No codes, misfires, WG rattle, noises, or any other anomolies. (Note: car is 6MT)
2. 3-30 map has more immediate power from 3k RPM to somewhere between 3.5k and 4k when the 12-17 map starts to kick in. It is definately easier to get wheelspin shifting or sudden throttle at lower RPMs on 3-30 maps.
3. I forgot how great Autotuning is. With just a tune and Mr. 5 intake (Helix IC still in garage) I never wanted to go above Map1 (13.5 psig) on 3-30 maps.
4. With 12-17 map it Autotuned up to 15 psig, so because of that 12-17 has more power above 4k for me.
5. There may be a little more taper up top on 12-17 than 3-30, but I am not positive.

Conclusion:
Either map works great for me. I give a slight advantage to 12-17 because of Autotuning, especially since it will really be most advantageous when I put the IC in. I do like the low RPM DIC torque of 3-30 map, though. Ideally putting both maps together would be best, and I am sure the ultimate goal of Shiv anyways.
Thank you for this review. I will update to 12-17 tomorrow since I want to keep autotuning.
I'm still running on V4

I see no reason for anyone still running V4 to at least switch to V5 12-17.
