The worst thing in business you can do is to don't fulfil the customer's expectations. So we will see how the different companies behave.

The PROcede has a large customer base already, the product is reliable. Vishnu should deliver in time and what they have promised ( large scale of available maps, O2 wideband support, etc. ). Even if it would be common to delay in the tuning market, new customers will stay away and buy products from companies who behave how they are used to. There are no things like different marketing rules for tuning companies.

Here we are looking at a completely new product which looks good and it will turn out whether it is better or worse than the competition. However, it's good to see a new product and a new competitor.

BTW, I am happy with the PROcede V2.

- Eugen

Looks promising... but if Helix is generations past SMT6 does it make it an SMT7 or maybe SMT8?
and they're only $400! Too bad I have no idea how to tune one

Keep in mind that a full tune at any half-assed tuning shop will run you at least 400 bucks, but if someone is looking to tune their own car then maybe they have found something here.

as i said above it would take 2-3 SMT-6's to tune a 335i and you would not have as much control as one of our units. I am dealer for their products if I could have gotten away with simply using a 6 I would have done that, I have tuned 100's of them.

Sorry for the delayed responses. We've been at SEMA. Eric isn't getting back home until late this weekend, so he will answer as soon as he can.

This was answered in the first few posts....

That still doesn't really answer..I realize they will make maps for certain mod levels, but I want to know if someone local can custom tune it; and if they will have maps with higher boost levels than 13 psi...

no they wont let you tune it yourself, but they will be creating maps for different mods/setups. I'm not sure about the 13psi question...

at atco posting from the I-phone!

just ran the car right off the street it ran 12.83@109.29, this is just w the tune and pump gas on street tires and totally stock exhaust. Happy with this pump gas baseline, on the way back i put in 2 gallons of 103 octane. Right before i was set to go a turbo regal blew a head gasket and doused the track with coolant. After a long interim i ran the car again and spun the hell out of the tires on the way to a 13.2@111.1. Getting ready to run again shortly : )
needless to say I am more than happy with the real world performance as it matches up perfectly to the dyno results.

thanks, last run of the night the race gas kicked in melting off the tires to the tune of 13.51@113.03. I wasn't expecting much as far as ET's were concerned(due to a poorly prepped and cold track and street tires) but I'm happy w the traps! has anyone run 113mph before this?

TTBullet,
Very nice MPH!! Especially with a 2.4 60ft time. Once you get some good traction that thing is going to be crazy. Does your piggyback require a ras gas map or can you just use race gas with the stock map?

You replied earlier about launch control but im a newb when it comes to turbos... can you explain a little more why you dont know if it will be a good idea? Thanks! Cant wait till this hits the market.

I understand some dynos read lower than the others.. but if one dyno says 280 tq, and then another dyno says 280tq.. shouldn't the HP be fairly close to each other?

interesting. as soon as your car gets some traction it pulls like crazy. Really impressive. Get some drag radials and let's see what U can do with those 12.4-12.6 times of JB2 guys <evil grin>

And release the stuff asap, to have enough $$ for those tires

High trap speed on street tires means youre putting out some really good power. Nevermind the time, thats extremely impressive.

we are making up 4 units for local users next week

the tune used is the same tune we will load on customers cars, it adapted to a mix of 93 and 103 octane very well(approx 96 octane mix). I am supposed to be getting some RR downpipes in the near future and will make a custom tune map for those. with traction, good intercooling and non restrictive intake and exhausts I dont see why these cars cant run 11's @115+mph on stock turbos!
