Yeah, it didn't fit too well for me on the left side of the mirror. But since I have the concealed display it wasn't too big of a concern to me. If you guys have any questions, let me know.

Using a helo as a speed limit enforcement tool seems a little extreme. Assuming it was a turbine helicopter the operating costs would be rather high! |

stealth in that the head unit is invisible, but if a cop is behind you, he can see the red flashign light in your rear view mirror, so slightly less stealth. Also far more involved to pull off, but granted, it's cool.

Do any of you Twin City guys have a clear bra? I had been talking to Brad about the BMW dealer installed one he has, but was wondering if anybody had a different brand like Ventureshield installed. I'm still on the fence about adding one given. Is it really worth it??

venture shield is the stuff to use these days. I did it 'cause winters around here. well, you know. On a white/lighter color cars, the edge of the coat gets dirt on it, making the lip (where it ends on the front hood) more noticeable.
I know one of the betetr installers in the twin cities (he does work for body shops, local dalers etc). If you like, I can PM you his contact info

Would you believe I bought one of those for road trips when I took the car out of hibernation last spring. Talk about a piece of junk. After f-ing about trying to make it fit for 15 mins I threw it back in the box and brought out the painters tape ![]() |

its either paying $900 now or more than that later to have the front end repainted. Venture Shield is the way to go for sure. The guys that do it are called Dent Kraft PDR. They are in Plymouth off of 494 and either 55 or Rockford, I can't remember. Just google them and you'll find them. They do an awesome job and they know their BMWs. I think they do most of the work for Sears and Minnetonka BMW. They also do dent repair. Great guys.

Schedule Maintenance Question
Guys,
I have the free scheduled maintenance program for my 1 and the oil changes are at every 14,000 miles or so. I obviously intend to change it a bit more frequently than this. Question: Will the dealer only change the oil at 14,000 miles or can it be 1 year? I have only 7.5K miles and am coming up on a year of ownership. Can I get the free oil change? Thanks. |

And if you do do it yourself, make sure you keep the reciepts for the oil and filter...incase they try to pull some warranty bullshit saying you never changed your oil..

Got my first service done at Minnetonka BMW this last week. I am very pleased. Had to come back and have a tech ride with me since the first one couldn't recreate the brake squeel but the second tech definately took care of me. Overall I would give my experience a 9 out of 10. Got brand new headlights out of it too
